I sat on George's lap, cuddled up in his arms, when a thought popped into my head,
Are we dating now?
"George?" I whispered, lifting my head from his chest to look up at him.
"Hm?" He mumbles, his eyes still closed.
"What are we?" I ask, worry etched in my voice.
His eyes flew open and he stared down at me for a moment before thinking.
"Um...." He mumbles. "I'm not sure."
"Oh...." I whisper, my voice caught in my throat.
I looked down at my hands for a moment before looking back up at him and giving him a sad smile.
I rest my head back on his chest and try my hardest not to feel sad.
It's not like he said he didn't want us to be something, he just isn't sure what we are.
"Alice?" I hear him whisper as he shakes me lightly.
I lifted my head to see George biting his lip nervously.
"Would you be my girlfriend?" He asked nervously.
I stared at him for a moment before it really sunk in.
"Yes!" I exclaimed as I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought my lips to his roughly.
His arms snaked around my waist and pulled me closer.
I nibbled at his lip lightly, asking for entrance, which he quickly gave me and our tongues fought for dominance, his winning.
He explored my mouth and we stayed there making out until we were forced to come up for air.
I opened my eyes and looked at him as he continued to pant.
"Damn." He muttered, and gave me a quick peck on the lips.
We sat there for a while, just staring into each other's eyes until I heard the chimes of the clock, meaning it was 10.
I'm supposed to meet Alex!
I got up and was about to rush out when George got up with me and grabbed my arm.
"And where are you running off to?" He asked cheekily, pulling me into his chest.
"I need to meet Alex." I state, still panting slightly. "I'm going to her house for Christmas break."
His smile fades into a frown as I mentioned Christmas break.
I placed a hand on his cheek.
"It'll only be a couple of weeks." I whispered and began to turn around.
"I'll go with you, no point in sitting down here alone." He said, and grabbed my hand, leading me to the common room.
When we got to the common room it was empty, everyone had either gone home or was still at the dance.
I headed up to our room, thinking if Alex was anywhere it would be there, but the room was empty.
I quickly changed out of my dress and put on a pair of black tights, a red and gold striped sweater, and my uggs.
I wandered back down to the common room to see only George, leaning on the back of a chair, watching the fire.
I walked over and sat down in the chair, getting his attention on me instead of the fire.
"No Alex?" He asks.
"Nowhere to be found." I answer.
"Fred isn't in our room either."
-----------------------------------
After waiting for what felt like forever, but was only about 2 hours, we hear the portrait open, and look over to see Alex and Fred walking in together.
"Where have you two been?" George ask as they walk in.
I stand next to George and put my hands on my hips, going all mother hen on her ass.
"Alex, what happened to 10 o'clock?"
"Sorry, I lost track of time." She says, giving me as sheepish smile as she walks towards the stairs.
"Where are you going?" I question, leaning into George slightly.
"I'm going to change out of the stupid dress." She says exasperatedly and then trudges up the stairs.
"So what happened between you two?" I ask Fred as soon as I know she's out of earshot.
"Nothing." He answered quickly, a bit too quickly.
"Yeah, nothing my ass." I say with a laugh. "What happened."
"Well, we danced....." He says carefully.
"And?" I continue to question.
"And we kissed..."
"Finally!!!" George and I both exclaim.
---------------------------------
When Alex comes back downstairs, neither George or I could stop smiling.
"There's my gorgeous date." Fred said, outstretching his arms for a hug.
Alex walked over and stared at us strangely before speaking.
"Alice, what's wrong with your face?"
"Fred just told us everything that went down tonight." George answers for me, as if he knew I wouldn't be able to speak.
If I tried all that would come out would be a bunch of untranslatable squeaks and squeals.
Her face turned a bright scarlet.
"Sh-shut up." She stammered, looking away from us to hide her blush.
"She's so cute when she's flustered." Fred and I squeal. George and Fred suddenly took a step back.
"George?" I ask cautiously, taking a step forward, tripping and falling forward.
I closed my eyes, waiting to feel myself collide with the floor, but instead feel two arms gently wrap around me.
I opened my eyes to stare directly into George's and couldn't help the sky smirk from forming on my lips.
"Oh look, I'm falling for you all over again." I said in a dramatic voice, falling even further into his chest.
I looked back up at him to see him giving me that look again.
"George." I say warningly, the mischievous smirk on his face growing.
"What?" He asks innocently, but he just can't pull off innocent.
He picks me up, bridal style, and walks over to the couch, that Fred and Alex are already sitting on, and sits down, sitting me down on his lap.
I was about to stand up when his arms snaked around my waist, leaving me to sigh and snuggle into his chest, falling into a comfortable sleep.
