•Chapter 7•

(Author's Notes will continuously stay at the bottom of each chapter to let you guys know when I'll update and basically what my plans are. Anyway, enjoy the chapter :)

*Lola's POV*

I wanted to be home. Yeah, that's right, for the first time ever I was actually missing that shitty little apartment.

I laughed lightly as I took the stairs, following side by side with Andrew.

He looked at me. I smiled softly.

"Drew, I'm sorry." I mumbled, holding onto the the railing as I eased down each step.

He shook his head

"Nah, don't be. It's fine." He assured

"Oh?" I snorted

I knew it wasn't fine.

Nobody in their right mind would deem a situation like this as 'fine'. Why was he be so nonchalant? I stopped him just as he was about to take another step down the staircase.

"No, Andrew I mean it." I reiterated, the grin on my face gone as I stared at him.

I felt like shit for putting him through all this. My life was so annoying. Wherever I went or whoever I was with always seemed to be burdened by omens and it was always my fault.

"Lola, I said it was-" he began, but his thought remained unfinished as he was cut off by loud and angry shouting from just below us, leading him to push me back against the wall with his free hand in efforts to protect me from whatever lay ahead.

"What the fuck do you mean you lost her?!" A man shouted. Looking forward, I was able to make out a tall, lean silhouette from the shadow on the wall. I strained my neck to see him as he spoke, his words bouncing and projecting from walk to wall as they flooded the entire stairway.

"I mean we were in the middle of pinning her to the wall when some brown-haired white boy came and knocked Jerry the hell out." Another voice called

"Rob, how would you even know that?" the other shot back "You were on the floor out cold before I was even-"

"Enough!" Yelled the lean silhouette

"Just find the girl and bring her to me, okay? No more games! You've been staking out that same apartment for weeks, and now I want results, got it?!" He screeched

"Yeah, boss." The other two groaned in unison.

I frowned in confusion, then immediately began piecing it together. I held my breath, my face growing hot once I realized they were probably talking about...well.. me.

I shook my head vigorously, my fingers pressed to my lips. A fiery sensation burned in the back of my throat as I leaned closer for a better view. After the lean man left, I could now clearly see the other two men and recognized them distinctly.

They were the same ones who'd pinned me last night.

I gaped in horror as I watched one of them pull out a thin, sharp knife.

This was too much.

What the hell had I done?!

"Lola, let's go. Now." Drew murmured

Cautiously, I walked backward, I felt Andrew's eyes on me as he tried to grab my hand to steady me, but it was no use. I felt like disappearing.

I tried swallowing, but felt a huge knot in my throat. Sweat swiftly beat down my forehead as I stood, trying hard to breathe.

What did they want with me?

"Lola c'mon." Drew repeated, tugging my wrist a little, but I couldn't move.

I couldn't think.

Air.

I needed air.

My heart began beating at a noticeably unsteady rate, as I felt my ears grow hot.

I needed to breathe.

Why couldn't I breathe?

My eyes shifted from the men to the knives, then to the guns in their pockets.

"Lola." Andrew escalated, grabbing my wrist and putting a hand around my side.

Breathe! My mind warned.

And suddenly, I did, taking in a drawn heaping breath and filling my lungs with air in a noise that sounded as if a seal had just landed onto shore, only to have both men turn sharply in my direction, a menacing look on each of their faces.

"Fuck!" I heard Andrew groan as he scooped me up, carrying my back up the staircase as the men recollected their weapons and began rushing after us.

*Nat's POV*

Lola.

Lola, where the hell are you?

My thoughts became clouded, I felt useless.

Hopeless

I needed her here. With me.

"I swear if I see that douchebag Andrew, I'll-"

"Watch it" Mrs. Tina interrupted, eyeing me as I kept my hands on the wheel

I sighed

"Sorry Mrs. Tina, it's just. I.. Well-"

I felt my foot pump the gas pedal a little harder as I thought about Lola Sikes... her and that Andrew kid.

I hated it. All of it.

I hated how right now they were probably together somewhere, and Lola and I weren't. I furrowed my eyebrows in pure fury, gritting my teeth a little harder but relaxing as soon as I felt Mrs. Tina's hand wrap around my knuckles.

"Nat, stop. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want." Mrs. Tina interrupted, staring at me sympathetically as I drove.

"There's no need for explanation, honey. I can see it."

I sighed a little, letting out a soft chuckle as I looked over at her small frame politely seated in the passenger's seat.

"Is it that obvious?" I wondered, mumbling to myself as Mrs. Tina continued smiling

"Don't worry, baby. We'll find her and my son. I promise." She said, whispering the last part as she looked down at her phone peering at the zero replies she'd received since she'd sent her first text around 8am.

Lola.

Lola, where the hell are you?

-----------

Author's Notes: In case you didn't notice, the first and last lines of Nat's dialogue repeated. It was not by mistake either. Anyway, I've decided to continue this story simply because I don usually like quitting on projects, but if I have to, I will. I will honestly have to finish this after Class Rebels though, because I'm starting to mix ideas and can't focus properly with everything I'm doing at the moment. Therefore, it won't be updated for a while. Although, whenever Class Rebels is over, I will upload like crazy, and they'll be longer chapters as well.

-Btw sooo who do you think those guys are? What do they want? Will any of this effect Lola and Nat or Lola and Drew? Leave thoughts and comments below :) VOTE VOTE VOTE! Thanks :)
