My brother, step brother, Blair, was a walking nightmare. He was three years older than me, 20, and he was extremely protective of me. I loved him so much but we fought way too much sometimes. I guess it just how sibling are.

Blair was in University of South Florida, studying Psychology. I was totally astonished by his presence because no one in the house mentioned him coming home this winter break.

"Hey bro!" I said and hugged him, erasing the thoughts I had.

"Hey kiddo. What'ya doing?" He said as he opened the fridge.

"Oh nothing, I was on just on the phone with my boyfriend." I replied. "How's school? Why are you back?" I pestered.

He let out a giggle and said "Who is he? What's his claim to fame?" He smized at me. "School is good though, just stressful. And I'm here for Washington. I am allowed home, aren't I?" He stopped and we made eye contact.

"Seth, Grace's kid. Remember the Matthews'? But I missed you. We've got a lot to talk about!" I said as I left the kitchen for the ringing door bell.

"Coming!" I shouted.

As I opened, I was excited and amazed by the tall male before me. Dad was home earlier than we all thought. He had so many bags and a box which I helped him take in the house.

"Blair! Good to see you son." He hugged him. "Are you guys all packed? We're leaving tonight. Your mom is coming late so dinner is on me." With that statement, we all rushed to the car to eat out.

It was just the original Bennetts, catching up and eating like pigs. Mom wasn't here to tell me to sit up straight or not to laugh too loud. Everything was awesome with dad.

It was the morning of our departure and I hadn't told Seth about our 'early vacation' so I found it fair to text him as soon as I woke up.

He called me almost immediately.

"Good morning Cupcake!" I said excitedly.

"Morning beautiful. How are you?" He said in a deep sleepy voice which was a turn on to me.

I chuckled. "I'm good babe, how are you?" I sat on my bed.

"I'm good. I hope you have a safe trip. You should text me when you get there. I'll miss you so much." He spoke.

"Awwu Cupcake! I'll miss you more! We'll talk later okay? Gotta get ready." I said hurriedly. "Sleep well babe!" I continued.

"I love you Maddy. Don't look at other guys okay?" He said in that sleepy voice again.

"I won't Cupcake. I love you too."

Then we hung up.

That morning I woke up in Washington, I felt tired for no reason but I was looking forward to seeing all the beautiful snow and spending time with my family.

"Make sure you're extra warm Madd." My mom warned me.

I didn't understand why I was so hungry. I just kept on eating as we stopped anywhere.

The first day went by fast and I couldn't wait to get home and check my phone. And before you start wondering, my mom was totally against us children using phones when spending time on our phones. So I had it on silent.

When I checked my phone, I was astonished because I found 26 missed calls from Seth and 5 from Tammy. I called Seth, hoping that he's awake because of the different time zones. Luckily, he answered in a very sleepy tone.

"Hi babe. How are you?" He spoke.

"Sorry for waking you up cupcake, I'm okay and you?" I asked.

"It's okay babe. I'm okay too. I miss you. It feels terrible not seeing you."

"I miss you too. I'll see you soon, just 28 days to go." I said, trying to be enthusiastic.

Seth didn't even catch my humor and so, I asked, "Are you okay?"

He exhaled, "I'm okay. I just had a terrible day babe." Seth said.

"Oh, what's wrong? What happened?" I began to worry.

"I got drunk at the club and some girl made a move on me, she kept kissing me." He exhaled again. "That's why I've been trying to call you, to explain to you what happened. I feel terrible about it babe. I'm so sorry I was weak."

There was silence for a while. I didn't know what to say, I appreciated the fact that he told me about it before I heard it from other people.

I sighed, still oblivious of what to say.

"I appreciate you telling me. I don't know what to say though, I am upset but I'm glad you told me." And suddenly my mood changed from content to woe.

"Anyway cupcake," I said trying to force a good mood, "I gotta go, sleep well. I miss you. Bye."

I hung up before he could even say anything. I felt like crying. I was so emotional that day throughout the night. I wanted to call Tammy and get her comfort but I didn't want to bother her with my boyfriend drama, so I went to bed in a heavy heart.

Seth texted me a few minutes after we stopped talking but I didn't see it that moment because I was too upset and partly hurt to talk to him.
