I thought they were myths. Legends. Stories, just to make our people scared of what lurks in the dark. Guess I was wrong. They're real. Life behind the shadows exists. A rather different world than ours I should say, filled with creatures unknown to the men of today. And now as I lay down on the hard surfaces out of sight but not of scent I watched as death itself took slow steps to where I was hiding. I knew I was going to die one day but, I didn't know that I would live a short life. But my life was not as short as it seems...

"I know right." Gale replied.

"Let's go to sleep I think I spooked myself out."

They laughed at me and we crawled under the covers.

"Twinkle, twinkle" I yawned, "little star, how I wonder what what you are. I remember when I was two. Seventeen of twenty two. Up above my head, you flew--"

"Twinkle, twinkle, shut up!" Gale yelled.

"That didn't even rhyme."

We laughed and fell asleep... well that's what I thought...
