The guard approached the town meeting. He too with a heavy heart was to relay the information of the Kings departure. This week, Jsano was moderating the meeting, calling to order those who wished to speak their minds on topics relating to the town and their wellbeing.
The large wooden door of the town hall creaked open ever so quietly, but enough for people to notice. The hall fell silent as the guard walked towards the end of the hall to the pedistal. Jsano was quick to realise who the man was and asked for his reason here. Jeff immediately gave a notice to the townsfolk that this was a message from the king.
The guard approached the pedistal and read aloud the paper, written by Nebris.

"Townsfolk of Mindcrack, it is with a heavy heart the I bare this information to you as you King. I have been ruling for many decades here and I could not have asked for a better time. I feel as though I have distanced myself from my family and wish to regain their love and trust. Henceforth I have decided to retire to a simpler life to take care of my family and are therefore revoking my position as King. As many of you know, I have a daughter and therefore have no heir to the throne. This issue will be resolved with a challenge. A challenge to find a new heir and King. I apologise if this notion upsets anyone in the town, but this is of my own doing. So I wish you the best of luck and may Notch guide you in your troubles. King Guude"

The townsfolk stared in awe at the guard. The realisation that their king was leaving them was met with angst. Many of the men however wanted to prove their worth to be the new King.
This was where Chad would find a way to prove himself and be more than what others thought of him.
That night he packed his bag and asked for a flyer to the challenge.
It stated that the participants were to stay in the palace. Chad found his two cats and traversed the town to the palace gates. He presented Guard Baj with the flyer and opened the gate. Chad was writing his future from this point onward. This was to change his life forever.
