The following chapter is not meant to be offensive in any way, shape, or form, so I am sorry if you find this rude. If you are a fan of the Twilight series, it is advised that you don't read this.

I think we need to talk about something. Twilight. Oh no, not Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony. No, I mean Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Some of my friends are claiming that Twilight is "Romantic, sweet, and adorable"

Romantic, Sweet, and Adorable
Explain to me what is romantic about Bella jumping off a cliff because her 109 year old grandpa boyfriend who stalks her in her sleep and sucks her blood is leaving her.
WHAT.

It is a good message for kids
My friends are denying that Twilight is a bad message for kids.
It teaches that:

It is not creepy to watch somebody sleep

It is perfectly fine to jump off a cliff because your boyfriend leaves you

No harm in dating a person who is over 100 years old

Creative and unique
Apparently Twilight is a creative, unique story. Stephanie Meyer's most unique idea is vampires. That sparkle in the sunlight. Glitter glue is more unique than that. Jacob Black is a complete copy of Sirius Black. They both are werewolves, both ride motorcycles, and should I mention their last names?

Once again, I apologize if this is offensive to your fangirl heart, continue to be a fangirl. I am just wondering what all the fuss about Twilight is.
