Ugh! Monday again! My alarm woke me up as always, but still I felt like the bed told "stay with me, don't leave me, come back," and really I felt bad for her, but I had to get ready for school. I should had gotten used to getting up early, but I just couldn't. School had started a long time ago, we were even about to end the first semester. Time had passed so fast, sooner or later I would be heading to college, and leaving my friends behind. Maybe, my father was right, and there are other choices.

"Morning, mother," I said.

"Good morning, Alison," she said.

My mother is an excellent cook! Today, she made pancakes with blueberries, and really they were good. Actually, if my mother hadn't married my father she may have been a professional chef. That had been her dream, but she gave it up, for her family. For this reason, and many others! I love my mother so much! She has done so many sacrifices for us, without expecting us to pay back. Finally, I finished and left to the bus stop.

Then I had a chance to interrogate Edward. "So, how are things going with Lily and you ?" I said.

"I guess good... We get along very well...we are very good friends...why you ask?" He said. His face got red, he didn't even know what to say.

Like usual I just laughed. Then he grew serious, and I stopped.

"Have you asked her out? I mean like on a date?" I said.

"No...I kind of want to but I just haven't," he said. "We only hang out at school, and when she comes over with Kennedy." A big smile formed on his face, one that appears always when she talks or thinks about her. I honestly don't think he notices that.

Lily is my brother's first love, and I'm glad it's her.

"Why don't you ask her? Invite her to the movies or something? An ice cream? I don't know, your creative," I said.

"The thing is that... When I'm trying to make plans she kind of ...avoids it, she just changes of topic," He said, with a small frown on his face. "Probably she isn't into me, I mean she must just like me as a friend. Probably, me too. I mean it's not like I'm in love with her or anything like that. It's just ...a temporary crush," I watched him carefully, and I could see the agony in his eyes. He wanted her to like him, even if it was just a temporary crush.

"You know what?"I said. "You can tell that to yourself, not me."

"I'm being serious," he said. "I don't know what I'm feeling. I don't know how much time I have been feeling this way. Really, it's all so confusing. I realized I felt something when I saw her the other day with Josh. Not that she likes him or something, but he does and I felt...upset, angry... I don't know, I can't explain it. It was just a strange feeling, just of thinking another guy would be near her."

"You were jealous," I said. "And for what I hear, you are already in love with her. "

"Yeah, probably," he said. "But we can't be more than friends. First, I don't think she feels the same way about me. Second, she is a Puternic. She is a direct niece from the Emperor, and I'm just well, an ordinary wizard, from an ordinary family. "

"You know she doesn't care about that. The name isn't important if there's love. " I said.

"But what if there isn't love?" he said. The sadness in his voice broke me.

Then the bus got there. Usually my brother is talking and laughing, except for today. He was staring at nothing, spacing out, thinking. Then I understood, Lily wasn't there.

"Where's Lily?" I told Kennedy.

"Over there," she said, while pointing to another table. There she was, Lily was with the guy I guess was Josh. He looked like the popular typical football player. Meanwhile, Lily looked like she was tired and annoyed.
