It was dark, night time, it all felt cold, the only light was a fuzzy one from a streetlight. There were people walking, and I couldn't see their faces, only their bodies from their waist down. Their steps and their laughter sounded like an eco, and the street got to a dead end. It couldn't keep going because there was a huge brick wall that went up to the same height as the other building. Then suddenly, other hard steps were heard deeply. They were all in black, black shoes and black jeans. They kept walking and following them....
"Alison!" Yelled Kennedy.
My heart was pounding very hard, my forehead felt wet, I was sweating. I woke up.
"What going on?" Said Kennedy this time more gently. "What did you see? What was it?"
I was still breathing hard, and I sat in the bed. I cleaned my throat and started talking.
"I saw..." And I told her exactly what I saw, and heard. Those kids walking and the black men following them. "I couldn't see their faces!"
"This can't be any good," she said. She was sitting in my bed next to me. "Someone outside is in danger, and we have no clue who it is."
"What do you mean by outside?" I said confused.
"Someone out in the human world, or at the Imperial House. Even at some other wizard community," she said. "It can't be any of us, we are stuck in here. There's no way it's us."
That calm me a little, but not too much.
"What if someone escapes this place and puts themselves in danger? What if it was us?" I said.
"I really doubt it," said Kennedy trying to tranquilize me. "Let's focus on what's going on in here, then about what goes on outside."
"You're right," I said. "Our top priority is to undue the compulsion, and find some proof of Leslie being a dark magic user."
"Exactly, now calm down," she said while she hugged me.
We went back to sleep.
The next morning, I realized this week was going to be worst than hell, or probably just hell because of Leslie. It was still a mystery to me, how did she use both types of magic? How did she manage to keep it all hidden? It was obvious that Ms. Salvishkov thought something suspicious was going on, put as well as me she maybe didn't have proof of anything. Just that feeling of evilness.
The morning went by very slow, people walked in the hall without purpose. Everyone was still trying to assimilate the idea of somebody getting to kill our Imperatriz. If she was murdered, we could easily get murdered, too.
After class, I was supposed to meet with the lunch lady to wash dishes. And it turned out it wasn't that bad. When I got there, Leslie had mostly everything done. She was using her wand to do everything while she just stood in a corner.
"It's easier this way," she told me when I came in. "You didn't really expect me to actually wash them with my own hands did you?"
"I can expect several things from you," I said. "Is that light or dark magic?"
"The same magic you use," she said and looked at me. "I know we don't get along, and we don't like each other...but I'm not what you think I am."
