This was it. Magical combats started, the field got full of people and noise.
It was Edward's turn. He barely knew how to use his wand, but for his age he was good. The other guy threw spells faster than my brother did, way faster. But my young brother managed to at least make a shield spell to protect himself. He didn't have a great connection with his wand either, so he actually had to shout some incantations, instead of just thinking of the spell and sending it out. The other guy which I didn't know was a white guy, he was pretty much build the same way as my brother probably a bit more. The guy then made my brother's wand fall from his hand into the ground. The guy was running to my brother.

This is the end I thought.

But it wasn't. Edward threw himself to the ground and rolled all the way until where his wand had fell. But the guy gave him a spell that made him go in slow motion. A slow action spell. My brother could barely move... Again I thought, this is the end.

But again Edward surprised us all. He shouted another incantation and made the wand move and go to his hand. How did he remember so many spells? I honestly had forgot them completely, but I had to admit that three years ago, I had used incantations too.

The slow action spell vanished and Edward got up. Then he made an electric spell, and send it to the guy. Poor guy, he just rolled all over the floor and lost. Edward looked exhausted, he had used to much magic to beat this guy. But he still had energy to celebrate. I saw the way he looked at Lily and gave her a look that said "this goes for you".

"Looks like you will have the same reputation as your sisters," said Professor Vargas. "Congratulations boy."

Then I heard some big whistle from a few seats back of me, and there I found my whole family. Something suddenly sunk in. What the hell was doing Max here? I went back to our earlier conversation in the morning at my house. My father had said he was coming! I was pissed off just of the thought of him coming that I never remembered he isn't a wizard!

"Or probably he is," said Bryan. He was sitting next to Kennedy who was next to me.

"What!" I said.

"Well... He's actually just starting," he said.
"Can you elaborate on that?" I said.

"I can't really reach his thoughts very well, but he's very exited about watching this, about learning," he said.

"Why can't you reach his thoughts?" That came from Kennedy. "Who's thoughts?"

"Max's. It's because of distance and the amount of people here I guess," said Bryan.

Oh my God! I had another thing to worry about! Why did things have to suddenly pop out of nowhere and stress me in a moment where I can't get more stressed?

"Calm down," said Miguel. "You should relax your mind in these moments and focus on the combat."

"I know," I said.

Then he gently squeezed my hand, and I realized we were holding hands. He gave me a smile, that kind of damn smile that made my world get upside down. And after that just without thinking I .... I just put my head on his shoulder. He then put his free hand in my arm, as if he was hugging me. We saw other combats, freshmen finished, then sophomores. We didn't break apart. I felt better in his arms, I felt complete, I felt safe. But it also felt wrong! Jose Miguel Castelo was just my friend! Only that no more. And we were just acting like a couple. Realizing this I sat up straight and let go of our hands. I stood up.

"I need to get a water bottle. I'll be right back," I said.

Then I came back and focused only on drinking my water. But then I had to go to the bathroom. A few moments later I came back. By this time, juniors were finishing their battles. It was almost time for seniors. We were all breathing hard now. Miguel went up, and he won. Bryan did too. And Kennedy... She did win too. She made her cousin fly and fall to the floor. They don't really get along.
