Chapter 12: Saved by Charmander

"Hello sir," The Captain greeted. "Is there anything you need?"

"I just came here," The man said, taking his hat and sunglasses off. "To talk,"

Rin gave him the death stare and this didn't go unnoticed by Lance. He eyed all of us suspiciously.

Rin shook her head slightly and shut the door behind us. 

"You see Captain, I need you to hand the ship over to us," The man continued, now taking off the Hawaiian shirt, revealing the Team Rocket uniform.

"Team Rocket!" Lance exclaimed, glaring at us now.

Rin sighed. "You were too hasty, Kenji,"

She took her disguise off and now they were all looking at me expectantly. I looked down at the ground and I knew he was suspicious of this now.

Kenji ignored her. "Hand over the ship, now," 

The Captain was astonished now. "W-What?"

"You heard us, old man," Rin stepped in. 

Lance stepped in front of the Captain, grabbing a pokeball. 

"I wouldn't do that, Champ," Kenji smirked at him.

"And why not?" Lance retorted.

"Because," Rin grabbed me and pulled my hat off. "If you don't stay out of this, your precious sister gets it,"

"Mika!" Lance exclaimed.

"S-Sorry Lance," I apologized shakily. 

Kenji started to laugh at his shocked expression. "What are you going to do now, dragon tamer? Your move,"

Lance was frozen in place and Rin grabbed me by the shirt and held me near the open window. "What's wrong, Lance? Cat got your tongue?" She sneers at him. 

The door burst open and I looked up, seeing Ash, Gary, Brock, and Misty.

"Mika!" Ash and Gary both exclaimed.

"Lance?" Brock and Misty ask with surprise.

Charmander stepped out from behind them, yelling out. That's when Spinarak and Horsea walked inside and Dratini and Pidgeotto came out of their pokeballs.

Rin and Kenji both looked as if they saw a ghost and Rin flung me to the ground, making a loud "bang" sound as I hit the ground. I grunted in pain, sitting up. Gary, Charmander, Horsea, and Spinarak all rushed to my side. Dratini and Pidgeotto stayed in front of me protectively.

I was the first one to break the ice.

"So it was you two," I said, making everyone turn their attention to me.

Rin and Kenji exchanged glances. 

"You were the ones in the Cerulean gym's basement, weren't you?!" 

Rin looked confused. "Uh, I don't know what you're talking about,"

"You were the masked people in the basement. I know it was you two because the red streak in your hair matches up with the red mask!"

"Oh," Rin replied. "That wasn't me. I'm flattered that you've mistaken me for-,"

Kenji elbowed her to get her to stop talking. 

"If they followed you, then you should most definitely be flattered," Kenji spoke. "You must be a tough trainer, which is hard to believe,"

I tried to stand up, but a sharp pain took over my back since I was flung to the ground. Gary caught me.
