I realized I had to go through Viridian Forest to get to Pewter City and I definitely wasn't thrilled about it.

I can't stand bugs and I've heard all the stories about people getting stuck in there for days. It's scary to think about. I've once heard about a girl getting stuck in there years ago and they apparently it took them an entire year to find her.

That's what my mother told me when I told her that I wanted to go on this journey.

I looked at Charmander, who was standing close to me and eyeing the forest as we entered.

"Well, we're here," I said to him.

He gave me a nod and I took a deep breath before taking another step.

As I walked through, I felt a tickling sensation on my leg. I looked down and my eyes widened. I screamed, seeing a Spinarak crawling on my leg. I shook it frantically as Charmander sweat dropped.

"Are you alright?" A voice suddenly asked.

I whipped my head around and smiled frantically at the stranger. "Yup, everything's fine!"

This stranger appeared to be slightly older than I was. He had icy blue eyes, raven black hair, and a stoic expression. He also wore a black shirt, black pants, and an unzipped long trench coat in dark grey.

He was about to reply, but then I started panicking.

"Oh my god! Leave me alone!" I panicked, seeing two more Spinaraks coming near me.

"Isn't that your Charmander?" He asked me.

I nodded.

"Charmander is a fire type," He replied. "So you have an advantage over bugs. Use that,"

"Yes I know, but-" I cut myself off when I realized he was gone before I could blink. I just sighed.

I continued walking to find my way out, and to my dismay, one of the Spinaraks took a liking to me. It wouldn't stop following me.

"Stop following me! Go find your mother or something!" I shouted at it.

It sulked and started walking away slowly. I suddenly felt guilty.

"Wait!" I quickly said. "You...you can follow me, I guess,"

The Spinarak looked happy and raced to my side.

I guess I had to get used to this.

I used my Pokedex to get information on it and found out that this Spinarak was a girl, and it was young. I got lost in my thoughts when I started thinking about whether or not to call my mom when I get to Pewter City, but I was still very angry at her.

Suddenly, a sword was pointed directly in my face. My eyes widened and I looked up slowly.

Spinarak and Charmander both looked worried for me.

"Are you from Pallet Town?" The boy who pointed the sword in my face asked.

I gulped slightly. "Yes,"

"Good!" The boy smiled and sheathed it. "Then I challenge you to a battle!"

I fell over comically. "So, you scared the absolute hell out of me just so you could battle me!? What happened to asking like a normal person?!"

I continued to give him an earful for that.

"And the next time that thing gets pointed in my face, I'm breaking it!"

He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and smiled nervously. "Sorry about that,"

Charmander stepped in front of me after that.
