I was so nervous I felt like I was going to throw up. Right here, all over my wedding dress.
"It's okay, America. Don't worry," my matron of honor/best friend Marlee said.
"I'm trying not to and it's not working." I was a wreak.
"Don't trip walking down there, Ames." My maid of honor/other best friend Celeste said.
"Celeste!" Marlee said to her while giggling.
All of a sudden the music started playing. Luckily, my dad and I were the last two to go. Thank God. My heart was racing. I wanted to do this more than anything, but I didn't think I would be so nervous about marrying the man I loved.
"Ready kitten?" Dad asked.
"I guess." I said back, my voice shaking. I was so nervous walking down the aisle. I wasn't smiling for real until I saw Maxon. He looked so handsome in his suit. God I loved this man. Before I knew it we were at the front. My dad placed my hand in Maxon's and we walked up to the alter.
"Do you Maxon Schreave, take America Singer as your wife?" The priest said.
"I do." Maxon replied.
"And do you America Singer, take Maxon Schreave as your husband?" He asked me.
"I do." I replied back. Maxon was beaming. He was so happy and so was I. I couldn't believe we were actually getting married.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride, Your Highness." He said. Maxon pulled me in for a slow, passionate kiss. Reminding me of everything we've endured together. It made me so happy. After he broke the kiss, we took each other's hand and walked back down he aisle.
Everyone was clapping and taking pictures. Our wedding was the wedding of the decade. Everyone was there. Every royal family, everyone. It was so big and packed. I didn't care though. All I needed was Maxon, and I had him.
"I love you, my dear." Maxon said to me after we left the church and were on our way to the reception.
"I love you too, but I am also not your dear." I said back to him. He rolled his eyes and kissed me. I loved it when he kissed me. It felt amazing.
"I am so proud of you Ames." My mom said to me after the reception started.
"Thanks mom." I said back.
"I think Maxon wants you, honey." Mom said.
"Yeah, I love you mom. I'll talk to you later." I said hugging her.
"What is it?" I asked Maxon after I reached him.
"Nothing. I just have something for you." He said with a devilish smirk on his face. Uh oh. I don't like where this is going.
"Do you like it?" He asked.
"I have no idea what I'm looking at." I said. He took me out to our bench where we met the first night of the Selection in the garden. He looked sad. I looked closer at the bench and it had something engraved on it. It said "I love you, my dear. ~Maxon"
"Oh my God. It's beautiful Maxon!" I said running into his arms. He laughed.
"It's beautiful and I love it, but I'm still not your dear." He laughed so hard I thought he couldn't breathe.
"I knew you would say that, love." He said after he caught his breath.
"That's better." I said.
After a few more hours of partying and having a great time, the reception was coming to an end. I was happy, yet really sad. It was my wedding day, I didn't want it to end.
"Are you ready to go to bed, love?" Maxon asked me after saying goodbye to everyone.
"Yes. I am exhausted." I said. He picked me up bridal style and carried me to the prince and princess suite.
"Maxon, I'm scared." I said as he kissed my neck.
"I know. Me too." He said. I think you can imagine how that night ended.
