Chapter 6 – Intimidated

As the four lads walked in. I pulled Faith closer, to my chest. I smiled as I witnessed her sleeping. Liam had just surrendered his whole name -to me-, and it felt a bit familiar. One name didn’t matter and it was nothing to worry about. I shrugged it off, anyways.

The four lads stood there with their hands in their pockets. Watching them standing there felt very intimidating and it felt like this wasn’t my scene. It felt like I didn’t fit in with them. It may have been because they were extremely attractive or their appearances made my heart skip a beat. If I said something, right now, I would stutter and make a fool of myself.

No, thank you.

“Excuseme” one of the lads coughed and I looked up meeting eyes with a blonde guy.

I assumed that he was summoning me. I noticed that he had an accent; but the thing was. I sucked at identifying accents. It went like this. Not english. Different voice. Done. I couldn’t tell what accent it was; but I could tell that he wasn’t from the UK. He gave me a welcoming smile which made me want to smile too.

Contagious bastard.

“Dude, why are you being so rude? Introduce us then!” a brown-haired said and I looked at Liam who was fighting back laughter.

“Shut up” Liam growled, hiding his face.

“It’s not our fault!” a curly-haired boy cried.

“Shut up and get on with it” the black-haired ordered.

“Louis has some clothes for you to change into” the curly-one blurted out.

“Andwe found your bag” the blonde said.

“Dude” the brown-haired said.

They were all speaking too fast, for me to understand; but once I understood what they were saying I nodded and continued to rock Faith in my arms. Looking up, I noticed that it was the black-haired that had ordered the curly-haired, to speak and the curly-boy was hiding himself in the brown-hairs shoulders.

“I need to call Belle” I said looking up and ignoring their ridiculous suggestions.

At this point, I was very shaky. My mouth trembled and my hands were beginning to sweat. My cheeks burned and my eyes were almost watering. They were making me feel weak and I wasn’t liking this tern of event.

“Who’s Belle?” the blonde asked, curiously.

“My best friend” I replied.

A few moments past and then the curly boy spoke up, interrupting my thoughts.

“She needs a phone, dude” the curly-boy suggested.

“It’s in my bag. Can you get it for me?” I asked him politely, pointing at my bag that the blonde was holding.

“Sure” the curly- boy said walking over to the blonde. “Where is it?” he added.

“In my bag, front pocket” I said and I returned my eyes to Faith. I watched her sleeping as her chest arose as she breathed.

It was now 6:00pm.

I was still in the building and I hadn’t noticed how quickly the time had gone. The time had gone too quick and soon, I realised that I had been five hours. By now, I had definitely missed college and no doubt that Belle would be waiting to lecture me. I hadn’t called her, and to be honest, I couldn’t really be bothered. Just un-locking my phone was too much effort and that took courage and determination; which I knew I had none of.

“Hey, I’m really that sorry you missed college today” Liam said guiltily.

“It’s ok” I replied.

There was a few moments silence, as I helped Faith build a tower. I couldn’t say it wasn’t awkward because it was. Very awkward - and I didn’t bother to meet his eyes. That only made the situation worse. Then I thought: Why did I run out, to the road, in the first place? Why did I not just mind my own business and start college like normal people do? Why did I leave Belle and save Faith?
