The wedding had smoothly flown from a reception to a wedding party- proof of Lucy’s ‘flawless’ planning. It lasted just the right amount of time to let the sun fall behind the trees, giving the entire party a fairy-tale feeling. The lanterns were lit, Christmas lights on, the smell of flowers filled the air, and the nymphs, leprechauns and other mythical creatures were just about to join in. Everyone was having fun. And I was just happy to be with Harry.
There were way too many people for me to just lay in his lap, so I had to be pleased with just his arm over my shoulder.
-Who got married? And why are you wearing a wedding dress?- he looked at me.
-I have no idea. Why are you wearing a tux, and why the hell is there a wedding ring on my finger?!-
-I do not know.- he put his arms around me and we watched the early stars.
-Do you remember when we were here for the first time? That’s when I proposed... for the first time.-
-Yeah, right before Lux had to go to the hospital.-
-Right before that… But, did you believe back then, that we would ever be here, for our wedding?-
-I don’t know, maybe. But since the plane crash I never thought I’d see you again, so this is pretty much the best I could get.- I giggled.
-Can I have your attention please?- mom chimed with her knife on her glass, standing up. Everyone looked her way.
-Baby, I remember your face when you found out you were moving to London. I remember how excited you were when you got your first phone. I remember how happy you sounded when you told me you and Harry had started dating. But, truth is, not one of those moments could compare to how happy you look now. When you were little, you’ve always said you didn’t want to get married because you didn’t see the point of it. Well, I’m glad Harry changed your mind because if he didn’t, I would be missing on a heck of a son-in-law.- everyone laughed, Harry blushing a bit. –I’m happy that you’re happy and that you’ve found someone to share your happiness with. I love you both. To Sara and Harry,- she looked at us.
-To Sara and Harry,- the wedding party repeated.
Harry’s dad, Simon and Lucy were the next to give a toast, but Louis Tomlinson’s was definitely the most ‘colourful’;
-Alright, cut the poop. Harry, I’ve known you for eight years, and I’ve never seen you happier. Sara, I’m glad you’re the reason for that happiness. And for the love of God, please go easy tonight, will you?- everyone’s mouths fell open in shock, but Harry, I the rest of the boyband, Perrie and Danielle- El was frowning and blushing- just smiled. It was just Lou. –You’re welcome.- he said and sat down between Harry and El.
Ed had volunteered to sing for most of the night, but when a third of the guests are musicians, and drunk, and there’s an open mic, there wasn’t much time left for him to sing.
But at some point, it was time for One Direction to step in. So they did a ‘What Makes You Beautiful’/ ‘Gotta Be You’/ ‘Kiss You’/ ‘They Don’t Know About Us’/ ‘Irresistible’/ ‘Your Song’/ ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ medley, which lasted for about fifteen minutes. And boy, oh boy, was watching a shabby boyband singing their once famous songs hilarious. But, they did still have the voice. And the moves. ‘The Joe’, ‘The Fish’, ‘Inbetweeners’… It was all there. They even changed into their old ‘Up All Night’ tour outfits. Louis reunited with stripes after seven years… Wow. I could tell, without a doubt, my eyes hurt from that scene at some point. Or was it because I was laughing way too hard? Anyway, my mascara was smudged, and Lucy won’t be too happy. Whoops.
After that Lucy dragged me away and changed me into a lighter dress. It was just your simple strapless fluttery tulle mini sequined 2nd wedding dress. Noting major.
If it was up to Niall or me or anyone with a common sense, we’d be serving the finest of Nando’s at the wedding. But, no. Not when you have two moms in charge. I couldn’t pronounce any food besides chicken from the menu, but it was all just a bunch of French food. But my stomach didn’t complain. And if going over the top with the first half a dozen courses wasn’t enough, the cake was so over the top, you couldn’t even see it anymore. It was six or seven tiers high, draped with pearly white fondant and pearls, so it resembled my dress. A set of white chocolate stairs spiralled from the bottom to the top with two hearts made out of eatable diamonds. Along the cake were black and white photos of us and tiny infinity signs, banners and more hearts. The cake was so hipster it would make Taylor Swift jealous. On the bottom, next to a hand-painted cupid stood a signature- Buddy Valastro. Besides the cake there were a dozen more platters with cupcakes, cannoli and smaller cake.
I managed to cut a piece of our big ass mountain of a cake for Harry and me, which, as ordered by the guests, we had to feed each other with. An eatable pearl ended on his shirt, but he paid me back by smudging my nose with cannoli stuffing. Lucy was mad. Anne and my mom were madder. Lou was the maddest. She gave us such an evil eye, it made me want to wash out my eyes and ears and mouth and nose with soap.
At about two, two thirty in the morning- after countless hours of dancing and singing and goofing around,-the wedding party had started to clear out.
I went to help Lucy, Anne and my mom clean up, but Luce took me by the shoulders, turned me around and said, -You shall not help. You’ve done your time. Now go and have fun,- she pushed me into Harry and waived at us, a wild, mysterious look in her eyes.
-So now we go have fun? Where do you keep the video games?- He took my hand with his- the ring glistening under the moonlight- and pulled me closer. I went to kiss him, but then three specific behind us cleared their throats.
I sheepishly smiled, Harry grinning.
-We shouldn’t do this here. Come on,- he took my hand and ran towards the beach, winking at Louis at the gate.
-What was that for?- I asked, but he was already on the pier, his hands up and a big boat behind him.
-C’mere, babe.- so I walked towards him, throwing my sequined white platforms in the bushes behind me.
-Harry, where did you- what is thi—
-Well, Louis finally bought that boat.- He took my hands, wiping my ring with his finger, and threw us both in the sea. Before I could protest, I felt his arms around my waist. I took my opportunity, and somehow managed to drown him.
We screamed and sprayed each other with salt water for quite some more time. I imagined I’d be dead tomorrow when Lucy sees her precious dress, but hopefully she’ll be close to water so I could throw her in too. I decided to slip out of the dress and threw it on the stern. It got so soaked in water, it almost drowned me.
Harry grabbed my wrists and pulled me underwater. I was expecting him to drown me again, but then he put his arms around me and leaned in, kissing me. I was so unprepared, I almost let all the air go from my mouth. Nevertheless, it was still the best underwater kiss ever. Then he helped me to the boat. We were so soaked, the ‘Stripe Queen’- or something like that. It was hard to read the name in the moonlight, okay?-, how Lou named his boat, might’ve sunk.
He pushed me into the cabin and closed the door behind him.
-So, I guess we’ll just ignore Lou’s warning and take Paul’s advice?-
-Yup,- He threw himself at me, throwing us both on the couch/bed.
-And now,- he said, kissing my neck, -let’s see what ‘I wanna stay up all night, find a girl and tell her she’s the one’ really means.-
-Or ‘Don’t even care about the table break ing’… except it’s not a table… it’s a bed.-
-‘C’mon c’mon and dance with me baby.’-
-You know we could go on like this for a long time. You know most of your song lyrics are ‘special’.-
He grinned wildly. -Oh, just shut up and ‘Rock me, rock me, rock me. Yeah!’,-
