|Chapter 18| Mini Laurence

Garroth's POV

I did it... I asked her! And Laurence was gonna steal her from me! A million happy thoughts raced through my head as I looked at my beautiful fiance sleeping next to me. She was smiling in her sleep. Careful not to disturb her, I got up to get ready for my guard duties but, I heard crying downstairs. I ran as fast as I could to the noise and saw Aph get up quickly before I left the room. She followed me down at a rushed pace. As we arrived at the bottom of the stairs, I noticed the sound was coming from outside. Opening the purple door, I thought I saw a baby Laurence. It was a little kid about Levin's age that had brown hair just like Laurence, but his eyes were green like Laurence before he turned into a... I shuddered. not wanting to remember that. But Laurence did look a little goofy before that... Long orange hair and green eyes.

"It's ok... It's ok..." Aphmau said in a hushed voice as she crouched down and put her arms around the boy. He seemed to calm down a little.

"What's your name? Are you lost?" She asked the "little Laurence".

"M-M-Malachi... I-I came h-here after I g-got turned into a-a h-human." The boy responded weeping as he talked making him stutter like me.

"What do you mean by 'turned into a human'?!" Aph asked a little panicked yet soothingly.

"I used to be a ghost... I died 900 years ago... Someone turned me back into a human..." He seemed to have stopped crying so it was easier to understand him. I exchange a shocked glance with Aphmau.

Aphmau's POV

"Would you like to live with us? That is... if you don't have family here still..." I asked kindly. I was hoping he would accept, he reminded me of someone and it would be good for Levin.

"R-Really?!" There was hope in his eyes and I couldn't change my mind after that.

"Yeah! You can share a room with my son! He's your age! Er... Well, the age you look..." I smiled awkwardly at him.

"Can I meet him now?" Malachi politely asked.

"N-No... You can meet Zoey! She'll take care of you when Garroth and I are gone doing our jobs." He said "Ok!" and Garroth stayed with him while I went to get Zoey. I had decorated the stairs that led to the basement so I was satisfied while walking down.

"Zoey?" I asked knocking on her bedroom door. It opened and the familiar girl wearing a green dress opened it.

"Yes?"

"I have a new son!" I gave a great big smile.

"W-WHAT?! D-DID GARROTH!!??"

"NO NO NO NO NO! He just showed up at our doorstep crying!" I quickly responded knowing she would go beat up Garroth. You don't mess with fairies... or elves... She ran upstairs not even questioning me more. I chased after her hoping she wouldn't do anything stupid. When she arrived at the top, she stopped and turned to the door, she slid a bit while doing that. Zoey's blue eyes were as wide as a golf ball!

"Aphmau...!" Zoey dragged me halfway down the stairs. "That boy has magiks!"

"H-How?!" I ran back upstairs and put a fake smile on my face. "Malachi, do you have any... magiks?" I ask, trying not to look suspicious.

"O-Oh... I forgot to tell you! I can make people see their worst fear... But don't worry! I can control it!" He smiled at us, knowing we would still take him in.

Malachi's POV

The black haired woman, Aphmau? Her fear was marrying a guy named... Zane. The blonde guy's fear, the same? The new girl's fear was... loosing everyone she knows and loves... I heard a faint "mommy?" but didn't see the owner of the voice. Is it Levin?! I wait excitedly as the girl wearing a leaf crown and a green dress goes upstairs to investigate the sound.
