Chapter 13

Lexi pov

I pull back and look at Calum. He didn't mean to do that did he?

"Calum." I say staring at him wide eyed. He looks at me and smiles. He then frowns as he sees Vic and I frown too.

"I have to talk to him quickly okay?" I say and peck his lips. He nods and let's me go.

I don't know why I pecked his lips but I did. Stupid. I lecture myself under my breath as I walk over to Vic. He looks down at me and I smile sheepishly. He pulls me away from the town and he stops.

"I know you may hate me-"

"Vic I don't hate-"

"Shh let me finish."

"I know you may hate me but don't kill yourself like you tried to on the fire escape-"

"Wait what?! No I wasn't trying to-"

"Lexi let me-"

"No! Vic I don't hate you. I love you. I wasn't trying to kill myself. I was just tired of you being who I didn't want you to be. You scared me. I slipped. I d-don't want to die."

"But Calum-"

"It's a lie." I say softly.

"A-A lie?" He asks softly and I nod.

"You see we didn't want his parents or home to get hurt so we said or well he said that we were going to get married." I say softly.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" He whisper yells at me and I pull him to a covered place in the forest.

"I didn't know what to say. I'm sorry." I say.

He smiles and pulls me closer to him. I blush and wraps my arms around his neck. I look up at him as he pushes my hair behind my ear.

"I still remember that day you kissed me." He says and I blush even more.

"Get over yourself." I chuckle.

"I think you-"

"Just shut up already." I say and kiss him again.

He smiles and pulls me closer. I tug him closer to me and kiss him harder. He wraps his arms around my waist and I wraps my arms around his neck and slip my fingers into his hair. He rubs circles into my hips and I moan quietly. He pulls back.

"What about Calum?"

"I have to fake it still but I love you." I say and rest my head on his chest.

"I don't want to lose you." He hugs me a little tighter.

"You won't. Me and Cal will figure this out. I promise." I kiss Vic's lips. His parents! I pull back.

"What about your parents?" I whisper yell and his eyes widen.

Calum pov

I kissed her. She kissed back. That's what couples do right? Except we're faking it. I mean it was just so in the moment. I walk to the park and pass the people congratulating me. I smile and thank them. I make it to the clearing part me and Lexi always go to. I sigh and sit by the lake. I've known Lexi all my life. Yeah sure I had a little crush but then I met Maria. She's all I want now. I hear sniffling and I stand up. I wasn't alone. I walk past the lake and a little father into the woods. That's when I see her.

"Maria?" I ask and she looks up. She immediately stands up shaking.

"Calum." She says softly.

"Are you okay?" I ask. Stupid question. She laughs coldly.

"Yeah it's just the guy I love is getting married yep I'm so fine." She says and I walk towards her.

"I'm sorry." I say and pull her into a hug. Should I tell her?

"Maria... I love you. Don't worry me and Lexi will figure this out." I say and she pulls back.

"What do you mean?"

"Me and Lexi we're not getting married. I mean for real. I panicked when the Knights came in. I thought they were gonna hurt us so I said those things. I'm sorry." I say and she looks up at me.

"Oh Calum you should've told me." She says and I pull her in a tight embrace.

"I love you." I say.

"I love you too." She replies and we stand like that holding each other.
