Chapter 1

Lexi pov

I walk with my brother Luke and look up at the taller lad. I frown knowing today I'd have to see Vic.

"Hey in 8 hours you'll be back here with me, Ash, and Mikey." He says talking about our younger brothers.

I'm Lexi Silence, have been since I was born. I'm 19, and very sassy when I need to be mainly around Vic, I have one older brother, Luke, 19 but he's only older than me by a month and 5 days, and two younger brothers, Ashton, 16, and Michael or Mikey for short, 4.

"Gotta go bye." I give him a kiss on the cheek and see Vic glaring at me.

What? I was early this time?! I arch my eyebrow at him and put my hand on my hip. He stands up taller and I roll my eyes. I walk past him but he grabs my arm. I wince in pain and he immediately lets go of it. I glare at him and he looks down.

"I'm going inside." I say coldly and walk inside the castle.

[Time lapse]

Screw this job. I hate it. I walk to the kitchen slowly with the plates stacked up one by one. I was going to make it until someone tapped my shoulder scaring the crap out of me. Which makes me drop the plates.

"Fuck!" I yell and cover my mouth when I see it's Vic.

I just cussed in front of him. Screw my life. Screw it all. I see my best friend Calum walk in with wide eyes. He tosses me the broom and grabs the dustpan. This is why we're best friends.

"Vic I'm so sorry. For dropping the plates and cussing in front of you." I say the last part softly.

He watches me and nods. I swear to god the boy never talks to me. I feel someone hit my butt and my head jerks up. I almost glared at Vic when I noticed it was Calum. I chuckle and slap his arm lightly.

"Vic's probably thinking that you make dirty words sound pretty." He whispers to me and I shake my head.

"He's a stuck up rich kid. I could care less." I whispered to him and he chuckles.

Calum pov

We finished cleaning up the mess and believe me it was a huge mess. I hated every bit of it but us being the "slaves" as they call us we had to. I look at the clock and see we have a couple more minutes left. I see Lexi heading out and walk towards her. That's when I see a red fingernailed hand stop me.

"Oh Calum you'll be staying for a little while longer." I see Maria say and I groan.

"Can I at least go home and inform my family miss?" I ask and she nods.

I walk quickly towards Lexi and she rolls her eyes. I sigh softly as we leave the castle grounds but remember I'll have to be back soon.

"You have to go back don't you?" Lexi asks and I nod.

"Damn I wanted to spend time with you and the brothers. It's okay I'll just tell Mikey that I'm sorry." Lexi mumbles and I smile sadly.

"I gotta get home quickly and tell my mom and dad so that I can just run back down here." I groan.

She shakes her head and we start parting ways.

"Wish I could stay with you but I have to take care of Mikey and Ash!" She yells as we walk farther away from each other.

"It's fine! I'll see you at school and after of course." I yell.

"Of course!" She yells and then I'm alone in silence walking home.

I open my house door and the instant smell of roses clears my mind. I take a deep breath and exhale. I wish I could just stay home.

"Mom! Dad! I have to go back to the castle. Don't bother waiting up. I love you!" I yell and then walk back out and make my journey back the castle.

I sigh. Why does she even want me there. Probably to like paint her toenails or something. I cringe at the thought. Soon I'm walking up to the castle gates, nodding at the guards, and walk through the doors.

"There you are!" I hear a squeal. Oh god.
