Chapter 14 ER

A: Alex(me)
Am: Ashley's Mom
Ad: Ashley
T: Tyler

I turned the corner and saw something horrible. A group of girls stood over a beaten Ashley. My instincts kicked in.

A: " ASHLEY!"

I ran toward the girls.

" Look who it is girls. Let's get the other dike."

They started toward me. I put my hands up to protect my face and prepared for a beating. They were all smaller than me. If it had been only 1 or 2 of them I could have defended myself, but it was 4 against 1. All of a sudden I felt a series of fist against my body. They were punching and kicking me for what felt like forever. When they stopped I didn't move. I wanted to make sure they were gone first. After a minute or two I sat up.

Then I looked over at Ashley she had a cut on her forehead. I made my way to her. She was unconscious. I instantly forgot my own pain and lifted Ashley princess style. I walked her to Tyler's car and caught her just in time.

A: " Ashley needs help Tyler."
T: " Oh my god. Get in. We're going to the hospital."

We drove to the hospital and checked Ashley in. I wasn't that hurt, so I just waited with Ashley. Tyler went home after about a hour. I Tried calling Ashley's mom, but she didn't pick up. Around 4:30 Ashley's mom still hadn't called and Ashley was just starting to stir.

Ad: " Alex?"
A: " I'm right here."
Ad: " What happened?"
A: " I'll tell you later. Just rest."
Ad: " Is my mom here?"
A: " No. She didn't answer her phone."
Ad: " She doesn't leave work until 10 on Fridays. I was suppose to ride the bus home."
A: " It's okay. I'll stay here until your mom comes."

After a while the doctor came in.

" You're fine Ms. Davis. You can leave any time you want."
A: " Thanks Doctor."

The doctor looked Ashley over one more time and left the room.

A: " Is it okay if I call Tyler to come get us? We can go to your place if you want."
Ad: " Yeah, thanks. Are you staying the night?"
A: " If you want me to."
Ad: " Of course I do. And I don't want you to tell me what happened until tomorrow. I don't wanna know right now."
A: " Okay I'll wait."

Tyler was their in about 20 minutes. I'm so glad we're on good terms again. Tyler took us to Ashley's place and dropped us off. On the way there we told Ashley about the double date and she agreed. She thought it would help her relax. We pulled up to Ashley's, said goodbye to Tyler and went inside.

A: " Are you hungry? Do you want to order a pizza or Chinese or something."
Ad: " Let's get Chinese."
A: " Okay. What do you want?"
Ad: " I want chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken with extra duck sauce.
A: " That sounds good. I'll get a large chicken fried rice and a large sweet and sour chicken."
Ad: " Okay. Thanks babe."

I ordered and we caught the end of Harry Potter while we waited on the food. Then the door rang.

Ad: " Here's $15."
A: " I can't take your money. You just got out of the hospital.
Ad: " But I want to to pay."
A: " No one has ever wanted to pay for anything."

Ashley kept talking, but I ignored her and paid anyway.

Ad: " Can we eat upstairs?"
A: " Of course, monkey. Need help getting upstairs?"
Ad: " I think so."
A: " I'm on it."

I picked up Ashley the same way I did earlier and took her to her bedroom. Then I came back down and got the food. We spent all evening talking and being so adorable it would make you sick. Then Ashley's mom got home.

Am: " Hey Sweet...oh, Alex. I didn't know you were here.
A: " Yeah. Sorry we didn't tell you, there was a little problem."

We explained to Ashley's mom what happened, and Ashley convinced her she was fine.

Am: " Okay. I'll leave you to alone. Ashley are you sure you're okay."
Ad: " Yeah mom, I'm fine."
Am: " Okay call me if you need me. Bye girls."
Ad: " Bye mom."
A: " Bye Ms. Davis"

Ashley's mom closed the door and left.

Ad: " Alex, why are you not cuddling with me right now?"
A: " I'm on my way up, but first do you have some pajamas I can wear.
Ad: " In that drawer over there, but are you sure you don't want to just sleep naked."
A: " Very funny. Aren't you gonna change?"
Ad: " Yeah, throw me some pants."

We both changed and laid back down. After a few minutes we both fell asleep.
