Blocks Chapter 18

CHAPTER 18

I was walking home thinking about Leah’s questions when these boys approached me. I tried to sidestep them but they kept blocking me.

“Hey Julia, you should tell your brother to back off,” one said to me. I was slightly shocked; what had Anton done?

“Huh? What did he do?” I asked; then I realised James had appeared.

“Him and his stupid friends jumped us on Arcus street yesterday,” James said, “totally uncalled for.” I was stunned but Anton HAD come home with a bruise…..

“Why?” I asked.

“I don’t know, I just said it was uncalled for though!” James was raising his voice. The boys had moved aside so I ran all the way home. My head spinning; Anton had beat someone up and if it was uncalled for than that wasn’t fair. Plus Anton did hate James. I felt really embarrassed that my brother had done this.

When I returned home, Anton was playing on the Nintendo.

“Hey Anton, I heard about the fight,” I said, sitting down next to him.

“What did you hear?” Anton paused the game and looked at me.

“I heard that you and your mates jumped James…..”

“Bullshit! James jumped us,” Anton cut me off, “I’d never touch the guy!”

“Really? Just somehow I can’t believe that,” I was angry, Anton looked at me in disbelief.

“You don’t know the real James then……”

“I’ve known him for ten whole years! How do you explain why you looked so angry when he came over?” I was pissed off now.

“Well do you know why I dislike him?”

“Forget it, I can pretty much guess!”

“No, you can’t,” Anton sounded frustrated, “Julia, he…. raped Anna.”

I blinked, “huh?” I said dumbly.

“That’s why she had to go away, he got her pregnant, and,” Anton sounded like he was about to cry, “Her parents think that I am the father.” I stared at my brother, everything was fitting now.

“I’m sorry……. Damn,” I stuttered.

“OK, can you give me a moment now,” Anton was annoyed at me. I didn’t want to press him so I left. I felt really bad for doubting Anton, doubting my sweet older brother and defending the one guy who had basically ruined my life. I felt ill; could it be my fault that James hurt Anna? Anna didn’t deserve that, no one deserves that.

The Volktina: Anton just told me. Your parents think he is the father.

GraphicLeah: ?

The Volktina: Leah, Anton is not that baby’s father.

GraphicLeah: Then who else could it possibly be JULIA! >:(

The Volktina: James

GraphicLeah: What? Anna hates James! YOU’RE FUCKING CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sat there dumbfounded. My girlfriend had just called me ‘fucking crazy’. She hadn’t even let me talk. I was angry at her; for the first time ever. I quickly made my mind up; I was going to ring her.
