CHAPTER 24

As James lavished his kill, I took the opportunity and ran towards him. I elbowed him in the face and took out his gun with the crowbar. When he had recovered, he found his own gun pointed at his head. He shook with fear and his eyes watched as I moved the guns aim down his body...........

"I win," I said with a smirk and shot him in the crotch. He screamed louder than I ever could. I glanced at Chantel and she looked at me, her eyes filled with fear. Then she turned and fled from the room. I bent over James; he was shaking madly and howling with pain. "Rapists like you deserve less than this," I said to him softly. I took his phone from his pocket and- with the gun trained on him the entire time- I made a 111 call. I told them all the information they needed and they said they were on their way. I hung up and carefully untied Leah. I kept the gun aimed at James the entire time. Leah was so scared; I thought she had gone into shock. I used the rope to tie James up; just to be safe. I took Leah's hand and guided her slowly back through the basement. Every single room was abandoned; the Blocks must of fled. We came up the ladder and out the trapdoor into James's room. I exited James's house and was greeted by a lot of police cars. Mrs Groose stood by the door and stared at me, Starr arrived at her heels and meowed at me. I ignored them both. Mr and Mrs Cave had surrounded me and were hugging their daughter viciously. I left them to it and went to face the wrath of my family.

Anton and Dad were there of course. Dad looked beside himself with worry.

"Julia! You have a gun!" he exclaimed. Oh shit. I put the gun on the ground and raised my empty hands.

"Not anymore," I said to him. Dad looked really scared.

"You're very lucky," said Anton with a frown and pointed to his car, "imagine all your savings being spent on fixing that."

"Forget about your car Antonio! I'm just glad my daughters alive!" Dad said angrily. Yep, they're pissed but I was fine, really. Leah's the one I was most worried about.

"James has gone now," I said, "I win."

"Was it a competition?" said Dad, his eyebrows travelling further and further up his forehead.

"Ugh no, but he had it coming," I retorted.

"Possibly," a tall policeman had his hand on my shoulder, he smiled with perfect white teeth, "can you come with us to the station? So we can hear what exactly happened?"

I got to ride in a police car! Police cars are really cool. I was a bit scared though, I had smacked up some of those 'Blocks' really badly. Would the police arrest me? At the Police Station; I went into a room with an officer. This was where I would be interviewed. Everything I said was getting videoed as well. I told the officer (whose name badge read 'Officer Toku') the whole story. Starting from me coming out to James to me shooting James.

"What was your reasoning behind this?" Officer Toku asked. I thought for a bit, picking out the best wording.

"I guess I didn't want him to hurt anyone else, doing what I did was the worst thing I could do without killing him," I swallowed. I realised that I really did want to kill James; I had been that angry at him. I could've killed him like he killed...... I didn't want to think about that. After a few more questions; Officer Toku led me out of the interview room and into a cell. I asked him if I was arrested and he replied;

"No you are not, but we will be detaining most of the Blocks tonight so it will be safer for you in here- in case any want to seek revenge." Toku left and locked the door behind him.

I didn't like being locked in the cell, it smelt bad and I felt like I was arrested. I kept thinking about Leah as I paced the cell. I really hoped she was OK. Maybe she had to go to the hospital? I was over the moon that she was alive. I saved her; I was her hero. I hoped Anton and Dad wouldn't stay angry at me, I was just trying to help Leah. Maybe they understood? Maybe they didn't? I thought about Tony; and a tear formed. I had watched him die; he had died so I could beat James. But why? Had he felt bad about betraying my trust? Tony had helped me out other times and he had helped me with his death. I decided to forgive Tony — he deserved it. I wanted to meet his boyfriend, Edward, maybe we could be friends? I felt a sting on my arm and realised there was a small but deep cut on it. It wasn't bleeding though so I pushed it from my mind. I felt very tired so I lay down for a while.

I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I heard was the cell door creaking slowly open. It was Officer Toku and he had Dad with him. I got to go home with Dad. Yay! No more smelly cell! Dad told me some great news; James was at the hospital but as soon as he was released he would be detained by the Police! This made me very happy. I asked how Leah was and Dad told me she was at the hospital being treated for bad shock.

"She's fine apart from the scare, James couldn't harm her; thanks to you," he said. I could go visit her later but NO MORE ADVENTURES! I could manage that, I'd had enough adventures for a lifetime. Not everyone takes down a few gang members with a crowbar and shoots their enemie's penis off.
