Chapter 7:Elena's POV
I WALKED THROUGH THE DEPTHS OF THE WOODS, A BLOOD trail leading me on the ground. There were dead bodies everywhere. There were men, women, and even little innocent children. My heart broke at the sight of a small baby lying dead in the roots of a tree. What happened to all of these people. The sun and its rays hit me as I turned beside what seemed to be the tallest tree in the forest. There stood two people in front of me, surrounded by around six bodies. I stepped over the bodies, walking around to see the another Sidmin and I, the ones from the newspaper.
"Elissa, we have to go. They'll be looking for us any minute now." said the Sidmin look alike. Elissa, I knew that name. That's the name that was in my "vision" at school. Why was I having visions of my mother?
"Taylor, can't we just let them kill us."
"No, you know that they will not doing quickly. They have their elements back. They will do anything to keep us here. It's time to go."
I guess Taylor and Elissa couldn't see me. The whole atmosphere began changing and next I was at an old black house. Weeds grew on the sides of it and I saw Elissa outside. She banged and pounded on the door, she was trying to get in for some reason. She stopped banging and yelled, "Goddamit remember!"
I jerked up and found myself in a hospital bed. I saw Sidmin in the bed beside me. He was sleep. What happened? Why did I have such a killer headache? I rose up and froze as I looked into the mirror in my bathroom. My pupil of my eyes had turned a bright pink.
"What the hell is going on here!?" I yelled, making a figure jump around the corner. It was Ashton. "I'm so happy you're awake." he said, hugging me. I noticed red roses in the hand and he passed them up to me with a smile. I smiled back and gently took the flowers away from him. He continued grinning at me. Ashton's glance rose to another guy seating in the room beside Sidmin, it was that same guy from the police department. He held Sidmin's hand.
"Why are you here?" I asked, snapping my head to Ashton.
"No thanks for the flowers?" he laughed, adorably. Did I really just say that?
"Sorry, thanks a lot....now can you tell me what you're doing here."
"Not many people are lucky enough to be alive after being struck by lightning, but you and Sidmin somehow survived that."
"That's what happened to us!?" I gulped.
"Yah."
"And you came to check on me?" I asked.
"Of course. I don't want you dead."
"Why not?" I asked, raising a brow.
"....because we haven't even had our first kiss yet." said, Ashton, leaving. Did that mean he liked me. My heart began racing. It was still raining really hard outside and I didn't bother Sidmin and his friend. His friend had crawled into the bed and wrapped his arms around Sidmin, cuddling with him. They both were sleeping. I walked out of the room, slipping on a pair of the hospital night shoes that laid at the side of my bed. Putting my hair in a ponytail, I watched as doctors and nurses eyes found me almost all at once. I shivered and hung on to my moon necklace which for some reason, made me feel protected and safe. The rain began to make me feel somewhat sad as I walked up the stairs of the hospital, leading to the top floor, where no one was.
My heart thumped as I pressed my hands against the cold windows that overlooked the overlapping woods that lurked behind the hospital. I concentrated my eyes only to see a giant black dog running with about five other dogs. They definitely weren't house pets, were the wolves? If so, those things needed to be exterminated, they could really hurt someone. A hand touched my shoulder and I jumped and the stranger that was in front of me flew back into the wall, knocking down a vase. I just did that, what's wrong with me? I walked over to help a young girl up, she was mixed like me. She had short naturally curly hair, and her eyes widened with disbelief. "I'm sorry for pushing you, you scared the hell out of me."
"It's ok, I'm Veronica Drake. My father runs the Half Moon Bay newspaper." she said, half way smiling at me.
"Nice to meet you Veronica. I'm-"
"Rebecca but likes to be called Elena, I know. We have Physics together,"
"Well, I should've known everyone in this town would know my name by now." I replied, looking down.
"Listen, I'd like to help you and your friend. My father has been in this town for years and my grandpa has been around since the fifties and has owned the business then. They should have some archives, archives on your mother."
"My mother wasn't from here," I said.
"But she ended up here, so there has to be some type of documentation on her."________________________________________________________________
Sidmin's POV
I WAS WALKING ALONG THE BEACH, IT WAS A COOL MORNING and the fog settled nicely over the clear waters. My eyes gazed out to the bay in fear, I didn't know what I was afraid of, but something told me to start running away from the water. There was an ear screeching sound and I fell to the ground, screaming in utter pain. I noticed figures raising from the water, but they didn't look like humans, they looked like giant animals. Scrambling from the ground, my jog turned into a terrifying run. Something tingled around my neck and I noticed a random necklace in it. The necklace looked like Elena's, but I must say, her's looked a little better, and older.
I stumbled to a beach house where I noticed Elena was standing.
"Elena, where are we?" I yelled over the noise of the raging waves and growling noises. She couldn't hear me, so I waved my hands into the air, almost throwing them at her, but then, I noticed that she couldn't see me either. She just stood there in an all white dress, and then I noticed that her hair had gotten a lot shorter. All of a sudden, I was tackled to the ground by something big, but it was like I went blind, I couldn't see anything. I jerked up from my sleep and Tyler jumped right beside me. He pulled me in close and almost took a guarding position and I laughed at him. "What?" he asked me, but then his eyes widened with horror. I rose a brow and then slowly got up to look in the mirror. My eyes were an noticeable pink.
"Please tell me these are contacts!" I exclaimed.
"I don't think so. It might be an effect of the lightning."
"What lightning!?"
"....the lightning you were struck by..."
I didn't remember that happening to me, but then again, I am in a hospital. And Tyler was here with me, not Jordan. I was about to get sad but then Tyler pulled me into the most lovable hug that anyone could ask for. I hugged him back and asked, "where's Elena?"
"She must've woken up too."
"I had the most weirdest dream I've ever had."
"What was it?" said Tyler, pulling me close to him.
"I think I was attacked by a wolf."
Tyler jerked up with panic and I could see a tear about to fall from his face. "Can I come see you later, I have some business to take care of." he said.
"Yah, since when do you know where I live?"
"I don't, but bet you I will find it."
"Sure..."
"And if I find your house, do I get to spend the night?" he asked, flashing me a smile.
"Why not," I laughed. I was going to need someone home with me because well, my family was dead. I looked down as Tyler walked outside, waving to me. Elena came back into the room with a mixed girl. "Who's this?" I asked.
"This is Veronica, she's going to help us find out who those weirdo doppelgängers are." replied Elena.
Later on the night, Elena and I were driven to our homes. I hugged her and watched her enter her house, a look of hurt written all over her face. She was going to enter a house where the joyful cheer of her little brother would be no more, and neither would the laughter of her aunt and uncle. I walked up to my porch to see Tyler sitting there, smirking at me. "Told you I'd find it." he said. I gladly smiled at him and unlocked the door. We both stepped into the pure darkness and went up the stairs, leading to my bedroom. He wrapped his arms around my waist and gently touched my neck with his pink and soft lips.
"Will you be mine?" he asked me.
"You barely know me."
"And yet, I'm in your bedroom with you?" he laughed.
"Good point. I just don't know."
"Come on, I'm already yours. I just need you to be all mine. Just accept me." His words lingered over me, accept him? I glanced to the window behind him and saw something very strange. It was opened. I rose my hand and the mirror cracked. I looked down at my hands and to Tyler.
"What's wrong. It must've been the wind." he said.
"Yah, the wind, I'm going to go get a broom to clean the glass."
I practically ran downstairs in amazement. I did that telekinetically. How and since when did I have this gift?
I walked quietly back up the stairs to find Tyler with his shirt off, showing off his six pack. He ran his hands through his hair and I almost fell over at how perfect he was.
"You like?"
