Chapter 4:ASHTON'S POV
AS SOON AS THE FIRST STRIP OF LIGHTNING CAME INTO CONTACT with the ground, my dad mind linked me, telling me that we were having a pack meeting in five minutes and that something terrible had happened. I told all of he people in the pack, which was pretty mush everyone except my dear mate and that Sidmin guy. That was going to look super sketchy, but there's always a lie that could be dug out. I lead my IB History class into the now crowded hallway, full of wolves leaving the school, heading into the woods. I got into my lime green Ferrari and sped off towards the woods to see what my father was talking about, he was actually kind of scaring me.
The rain didn't seem to want to lessen up and I could see the cars sliding behind me. We need to teach the pack to be a little bit more careful, said Rafa. I nodded my head in agreement. We got into the Half Moon Bay Woods, it was beautiful here. The woods stood at the top of a cliff that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. Jordan appeared next to me, asking, "what's going on?"
"I'm not sure," I replied. I saw my father and mother step into sight and the pack of almost a thousand hushed. Jordan and I went by my father's side, and then the speech began.
"Hello my family, as you know, I am Shayman Michaels and this is my mate, Ashtyn." said dad, pointing to mom. "Today is the day that we have all feared, the hunters have decided to come to our town and try to eradicate us. They have killed one of our own, they sent us his ear in the mail today. The hunters are somewhere in this town and if we don't find them, that means us, and our mates will be in danger. Watch everyone with a close eye. We believe that there are four here already. Also, I've gotten word that they picture containing the woman who killed our family will be arriving tomorrow with one of our members who is in the FBI." The crowd cheered and roared about the new exciting information about the Jane Doe that had killed our pack members, but we were all worried about the hunters.
That meant that my mate was in terrible trouble right now, and I wasn't going to let anything happen to her. I ran off, Jordan chasing behind me. "Where are you going Ash!?"
"My mate is in danger, she is at school with no pack members to protect her, if she dies, -"
"No man, I understand. I'm coming too, my mate is with yours, and I would like for him to be alive for our date." smiled Jordan, getting into the car with me.
"What!? A date!?"

THE LUNCH BELL RANG AND I NOTICED THAT THE SCHOOL WAS THREE-FOURTHS empty. That's really weird. Maybe there was I skip day that I didn't know about, but everyone was here earlier. Why did they leave, and did they all leave at the same time? Sidmin came out of his psychology class and bumped into me. I giggled at him and said, "and I thought I was the blind one." He smiled. Woah, Sidmin was smiling! He didn't see, like the type of person that had positive emotions. "Why are you so happy?" I asked him.
"I'm going on a date with Jordan." he blushed.
"What!?" I asked, raising a brow.
"I'm giving him one chance, he's got one chance to impress me."
"Did you fully think this through!?"
"Lol, shut up!"
"Hey, I think I'm going to go home, it seems almost everyone at this school has just skipped the rest of the day, guess I'll join them." I replied, swinging my hair to the side.
"Well I'll walk with you, I live just down the street."
"So do I!"
We both walked out of the double hinged doors and headed to the neighbourhood that was about twenty minutes down the road. It would've been ten if one of us had a car. We walked in silence and just took in the beautiful scenery of the clouds scattering over the sky, thunder rolling in behind it. All of a sudden, a young adult walked out of the woods and headed over to us.
"Are you Rebecca and Sidmin?" he asked.
"Who's asking?" asked Sidmin.
"I'm sorry, where are my manners, I've forgotten to introduce myself. I'm Mr. Payne."
"Ok? Is there something you need Mr. Payne."
"No no,of course not. You two take care." With that, Mr. Payne walked off in the direction of the school. As Sidmin and I kept walking, we noticed that our houses were right across the street from each other. We walked into my house, and Sidmin took a seat on the couch. "You want anything to snack on bud?" I asked. He shook his head no and I went into the fridge and removed a pomegranate. I sliced it open on the kitchen counter and began eating the seeds. Gosh this stuff was really good. Sidmin turned on the TV and put it on the local news channel.
"Welcome to theNOC. I'm your reporter Cindy Latham," said the red head on the screen, "it's been thirty-four years since the tragic murder of the Michael's in Half Moon Bay, and now, we finally have a lead on the girl that supposedly killed them. We will be seeing that picture around midnight." Sidmin froze at the mentioning of the murder.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I read about those murders at school. There were two people standing in a photo, but for some odd reason, they were erased from the picture. I think that the people that were killed are related to Ashton." he said.
"Oh. That's unfortunate. How'd they die?"
"No one knows. The case has been cold."
"More like frozen."
There was a loud bang at my door and I got up, annoyed. I opened the door, revealing a wet Jordan and Ashton. Ashton hugged me and I felt awkward, as Jordan walked in and hugged Sidmin.
"Why are you hugging me?" I asked.
"Listen, I'm sorry for being an ass to-"
"Ashton, I don't want to hear your sorry excuses. I've been in a coma for half a year, and the first thing I come back to is someone like you. A stain. I don't even want to look at you, now will you and Jordan please leave. And leave now."
Ashton looked hurt by my words, but I didn't care. He just can't expect everything to work out. Jordan separated from Sidmin and kissed him on him forehead. He waved goodbye to him and they both walked off of my porch. Sidmin said, "you can at least be nicer." I threw a pillow at him.
About an hour later, my aunt and uncle arrived home, and I introduced them to Sidmin. After that, he went home and next thing I knew, it was eleven-fifty five at night. Time flew by. I didn't even realise that I had skipped lunch because of all of the homework I did after Sidmin left. I slipped downstairs to get some mint chocolate chip ice cream and turned my head to the TV, still on the news channel. My uncle and little brother were snuggled up together on the couch, sleep. Cindy Latham was back on the air and I turned up the television slightly.
"The FBI is in Half Moon Bay, and we finally have the picture that the town has been waiting for. Here is the picture of the only suspect in the Michael Family Murder." A brown filtered pictured appeared with two people standing in the middle of the dead bodies, and I dropped my carton of ice cream, clasping my hands to my mouth. That couldn't be right, I had to be imagining things. The girl in the photo, was me, she looked exactly like me. She stood in place, looking in mystery, as her short brownish red curls dropped to her shoulder. And the guy who stood beside her looked exactly like Sidmin.
"Mom!?" I yelled, whispering, tearing up. We were standing in the woods over the dead bodies. How was that possible?
