The years have gone by, and
Our friendship has held fast,
But as I leave this land of yours,
I don't know if it's meant to last.
We can e-mail and phone each other,
But it's not meeting face to face.
We'll be living in separate countries,
Making it hard to visit my place.
I may never see you again, our relationship
Vanishing into thin air and getting dissolved.
I worry about these things way too much, but
If it's not going to end, I want it resolved.
It's amazing on how much we are unalike.
We like different movies, different games,
Different books, different activities, and
I don't even think our belief in God is the same.
I'm afraid to speak with other people,
Never committing or trying to relate.
But despite what sets us apart, our
Relationship as a whole is great.
I hope to meet again, whether by direct
Intervention, which I call providence,
Or by bumping into one another on the
Street, which you call coincidence.
After we die, and if by some miracle
We do end up seeing each other again,
During our interactions, remember that
I once told you that you are my best friend,
Because that's who you are.
