Prologue:
"Don't go far from your sister!" called a mother worriedly to a little girl who ran out of the house.
"I won't Ma! I'll stay close to Sis!" The girl called back assuring her mother that she'll be careful. She was so excited! She was going to the neighborhood basketball stadium to see a late night game that the big boys will play against the big girls! The big girls has won every game while the boys have won three and lost seven. She will get to see her big sister, Adriana play. She is supposed to meet her other big sister Yedana at the stadium.
She was skipping along when she became face to face with the neighborhood bully Tom. She gulped. She is picked on everyday by Tom. And she knew too well that he is no one you'll want to mess with.
"Going somewhere Tiny Winy?" He asked harshly. She took one look at him and started to run the only place she could go- into the Dragon Forest. She ran and ran and was poked harshly by branches, prickly bushes, and what not! She was bleeding badly and her whole body was sore but kept on running. She could hear Tom's cruel comments but she kept on running. She felt on passing out but she kept on running! She ran and ran until she tripped over a tree root and fell into a small clearing. She lay there paralyzed, not knowing what to do. She closed her eyes and sat up. It was almost time for the game but she didn't care. Why should she anymore? She's bleeding, sore, and lost. She opened her eyes and gasped. She couldn't believe what she saw! Right in front of her was the most beautiful and unique statute she has ever seen. The statue showed a flying White Tiger right smack dab in the middle. It was just there right in mid air as if it was actually flying. On the left side of it was a little clear ocean blue dragon whose eyes seemed to dance playfully. On the right of the flying tiger was a big beautiful pure white dragon. She seemed to glow like the moon and smile motherly. And around the tiger and two dragons were millions of other dragons. Each one is unique in its own way. No two dragons were alike. She immediately forgot that she was hurt and studied the statue fascinated. She always loved tigers and dragons. She believed that white tigers were both majestic and magical just like dragons. Why else are they white and not orange? It was her way of explaining it. Her parents never understood why she loved tigers and dragons. Her studies about them were pointless to them. She studied the statue. She then saw an inscription written on the floor near them. It was written in an ancient language called Moonieta. No one has ever bothered to study it. Well no one except the little girl. She has sat in the library studying scroll after scroll that is written in Moonieta. It wasn't that hard. She figured it out immediately! It came so naturally to her but to her dismay no one cared. The people who wrote in Moonieta are very mysterious to archeologist that they didn't even bother to study them. After all they didn't conquer land and create a civilization like the Greek. They don't even know where they live! They just found some scrolls one day out in the middle of the ocean near Dragon Island! Anyway the inscription said: "We come out when the moon is shining bright." The girl was puzzled. Who were we? And why do they come out when the moon is bright? She looked up it was nightfall. When she looked back she saw something very strange. They statue was transforming. She looked up. The moon is now shining bright. She looked back and gasped. The flying white tiger and all the dragons were..... Alive. The white tiger stepped towards her. He seemed to smile. For some reason she didn't feel scared of him and was rooted to the spot where she stood. When he reached her he held out his paw and touched her forehead. All of a sudden all her pain stopped. Her bleeding ceased. Her body wasn't covered in scars anymore. The scars all healed. All the rips and tores in her dress mended and her dress looked good as new. A new kind of energy burst through her. She can feel the magic all the way to her finger tips. She felt stronger, braver and wiser. She felt like she had a new refreshed soul now. Then the tiger pulled away and handed her a whole deck of cards. She understood what they were. Dragon cards. She knew it all along. White tigers were as magical as dragons. The flying white tiger is the king of dragons. And the dragon cards he handed her are all the dragons in the universe. "You are the chosen one Cynthia." The white tiger told the girl. "It is an honor." Cynthia said bowing. "Let this amulet help you in your journey." said the white tiger handing her an amulet. The amulet was a golden chain with a moonstone dangling from it. Carved perfectly on the moonstone was a powerful flying white tiger. Now the moonstone is no ordinary stone! It is a stone that looks like the moon and posses great mystical powers. Cynthia put it on. The white tiger bid her good bye and all the dragons bowed and she bowed back. Then Cynthia ran out of the forest. Nothing stood in her path in the forest this time. She walked on a clear big path leading out of the forest and back near the basketball stadium. Everyone was pouring out. The game was over. The girls won as usual. All of a sudden someone poked her in the back. "Ow!" She yelled whirling around to come face to face with guess who? Did you say Tom the neighborhood bully who finds entertainment by picking on her? DING! DING! DING! You got it! If it was a normal day she would have tried to lose Tom in the crowd and stand by her sister Yedana. But it's not a normal day. And she knew that there will never be a one again. She stood there calmly, looking at him right in the eye. She could tell that he was uncomfortable with the way she was looking at him. And with a straight serious face she told Tom "Leave. Me. Alone." saying that she turned around and began to walk away. "No," timidly said Tom staring at his feet "I won't leave you alone." Cynthia swirled around so fast that it made Tom dizzy just looking at her. Tom looked at her face. She wore a bitter smile. "Are you sure that you won't leave me alone? Trust me you will regret it afterwards." She warned him. Tom laughed. His laugh sounded unsure and confused. "Pathetic!" He thought. "I-I'm sure." He said at last. "Then I challenge you to a duel of dragons!" She challenged. Tom's jaw dropped at this statement. His uncle had told him about dueling with dragons. It was an ancient game originated right here in their little Dragon Island. Surely this six year old girl doesn't know how to duel with dragons! "I accept." Tom said. "Okay then as the challenger I chose the arena!" Cynthia told Tom "and I chose the Dragon Forest!" "What?! You must be crazy to choose that!" yelled Tom astonished at what she chose. "Call me crazy or call me smart." Cynthia replied. And off they went to the ancient arena located in Dragon Forest. She chose that place because it's where she found her dragons. She knew that when she first battle with her dear dragon friends she shouldn't be far from where they are found. Soon they began their duel. And in a half an hour their duel was done and Cynthia won. Now Tom has to leave her alone. After the duel she ran back home, thrilled to tell her parents all that had happened.
Authors Note: Well, Good/Bad? What can I do to make it better? Please vote if you like it! :D This chapter I talked in third person. The rest of the chapters are in our main character Cynthia's point of view! It might seem boring now but it will get better later. Trust me, it will.
