Yedana was glowing. A bright blue light covered her. I watched fascinated by how all the bruises disappeared. Then soon it stopped. Yedana looked good as new.
"You should rest Yedana. You had a lot of bruises so a lot of magic needed to be used to heal them." I told Yedana. Even I was surprised of what I just said.
"Thank you Cynthia for everything." she thanked me weakly before she falls into a soundless slumber. Everyone then shuffled outside. Dad came in.
"I am very proud of you." Dad told me.
"Thanks Dad." I reply.
"Cynthia, I wanted to finish what I was telling you." he told me.
"The tiger that you saw in your visions is your Great Grandmother. She turned into a tiger when she died to help you with your quest and to rule over the dragons." Dad finished. I stood there stunned.
"M-my Great Grandmother is the friendly White Tiger?!" I asked.
"Yes. She was the one who named you. I think she knew that you will be the Dite after her. She named you Cynthia after the Greek Moon Goddess Artemis. Her nickname was Cynthia since she was born on Mount Cynthius." Dad told me.
"I'll see you later. I have to go now sweetheart." he said as he left after he gave me a hug. I sat on my hospital bed. I needed to process this information. I need to learn more about my Great Grandmother's and my talent. So opened up the book Tom gave me-it was titled A Guide to Dite Magic. The book told me every kind of magic that I can do but the one that really caught my attention was a passage labeled Shape shifter:
"Dites are able to shape shift. They are able to shape shift into many things even humans. But the most common animal that Dites are able to shape shift into is the majestic White Tiger."
I wanted to try it out. So I closed my eyes and imagined myself transforming into a White Tiger. I opened my eyes and looked at the mirror. Nope didn't shift! Still a human. I try it many more times, refusing to give up.
"What are you doing?" ask Yedana amused. I jump when I hear her. When did she wake up?
"I found out that I can turn into a tiger so I was trying to shift." I tell her grinning. "I think I am a were-tiger." She laughs at my little joke. All of a sudden we hear the ground shaking.
"Earthquake!" Yedana yells grabbing my hand as we exit the house. I wonder why all of a sudden there's an earthquake. The weather channel never mentioned one today. Then again most of the time they predictions never happen. I looked around. And then I saw it. The cause of the earthquake was an Earth Dragon. He was a brownish yellow and at least 8-10 feet tall. He had a horn on top of his nose. Whenever he stomped an earthquake will happen. He can even breathe boulders and rocks! We are definitely in trouble! I didn't know what he was called so just for a joke I called him-drum roll please-Mr. Pebble! I needed to defeat him before he does anymore damage. I remembered the cycle: Fire beats Earth, Earth beats Air, Air beats Water, and Water beats Fire. Okay now I need to find a Fire Dragon (Furnace, Blazing Sun, Fire Breath, Heat Wave....). I got it! I take out a Dragon Card.
"I summon Torch!" I yell holding the card in front of me showing it to the dragon. Soon a dark red light came from the card and onto the ground. The light stopped and in its place was Torch the Fire Dragon. The dragon was a light red. He was only 6 feet tall. Now you may be wondering 'Why in the world did she summon a 6-ft tall midget to fight against a 10 ft tall beast?!' For a little guy, Torch has awesome fighting skills! Just a piece of advice, you DO NOT want to get Torch mad. Well, guess what! Just like you, Mr. Pebble underestimated Torch.
"Why did you summon a little baby dragon? You think you can defeat me with that!" he laughed humorlessly. This got Torch real mad. I smile. I got him right where I want him.
"Looks like we got ourselves a bully Torch. Let’s set Mr. Pebble here in his place." I say loud enough for Mr. Pebble to hear. The Earth Dragon heard what I called him. He was so mad that he sent a boulder tumbling our way. Torch quickly burned it to a crisp.
"Alright Torch do Ring of Fire!" I tell Torch. He breathes fire all around Mr. Pebble. Mr. Pebble panicked. The ring of fire was closing on him and he couldn't stop it with his earth powers.
"Now do Mountain of Lava!" I told Torch. He flew right above Mr. Pebble. He let out a deep breath. Soon tons and tons of lava came out and burned Mr. Pebble to a crisp. I watched as the untamed Earth Dragon slowly disintegrated. He turned to a heap of sand. Then the heap of sand cleared and in its place was a beautiful dogwood tree.
"Good Job Torch!" I congratulated as we high-fived each other.
"Torch return!" I say standing in the same stance I was when I summoned him. The same dark red light came out and returned him back to his Dragon Card. All of town came and congratulated and thanked me for defeating Mr. Pebble. When everyone settled down, I chanted a spell to fix Mr. Pebble's damage:
Shattered Glass
And broken wood
All return
To once again
Create the object
That it was used to make
Soon everything was repaired. I returned home with my family and Tom's family. When we arrived at my house I announced "I am going to the Saubhagyas today." This startled everyone. I told Tom and his family. They all refused to let me go.
"It's too dangerous." my parents said "We don't want to lose you too."
"But I need to go!" I begged. Still the shook their heads no.
"Fine, will you let me go if I have some friends to come with me?" I ask trying to compromise. I like to do my work independently but I need to get the Himalayas so that means I have to do sacrifices. They were hesitant at first but nodded their head yes.
"Okay, Tom and Yedana will you like to accompany me?" I ask them. They nodded their heads excitedly.
"Okay then packs your things and come meet me in front of my house." I tell them. And then we were off to our rooms to pack for the journey.
******************************************
We were all in front of my house. We said our goodbyes and our families wished us good luck.
"Uh, Cynthia. How are we going to get there?" asked Yedana. I smirked.
"We're going to fly." I say simply.
"I summon Air Strike!" I yelled holding a Dragon Card outwards. A murky orange light comes out of the card and onto the ground. Then the light disappeared and in its place stood an 8 ft tall dragon and was a light green. We hop on and say our last goodbyes before we take off. Me steering Air Strike and Yedana and Tom sitting behind me. And off we go.
Author's Note: HAHA! I TRICKED YOU! SHE DIDN'T SHIFT! Well... not yet. >:) Mwahaha! Hope you all enjoyed it! :D Thank you too you all! Stay awesome!
