Chapter Twenty Two
------Ylva
I woke up in the at same bed I woke up in yesterday. Only this time, I was alone. No one hugging me, nobody kissing me, no one with their arm wrapped around my waist. No one. I sat up, a throbbing sensation stung from my wrist. I looked down to see a bandage and cast locked onto my skin. Misty whimpered remembering yesterday's events.
'That fucking rat put us to sleep again!' I yelled.
I ran into the bathroom. I stared in the mirror at my awful face. My shaggy blonde hair was sprawled around my head and my violet eyes were now dull and dim, black bags under them from where I was attacking Raiden.
'We need to see our grandmother!' Lucine was wide awake, glaring at the mark on my neck. Was it a mistake?
'No!' Misty growled.
'What was with me yesterday? Why did I see black?' The girls went quiet when I asked that. Tension floated around the air as I sucked in a breath, 'Guys!'
Lucine sighed, 'The back part of your vampire side is coming out. If not controlled, you will lose both Misty and I, and you will lose you mate, you would have-' Lucine bit on her lip, her eyes going teary as she looked away and closed them.
'What Lucine?' I literally begged to know, even though I was sure I wouldn't want to know.
'You will kill him if you don't get the under control.' she burst into tears.
I stumbled backwards, balancing myself on the wall. I don't want to kill Ryker. Sure, I may not be on the best terms of him right now, but I still love him. I jumped into action, slipping off my clothes and changing into shorts and a t-shirt. I ran over to the door and pulled on the handle.
Wait, what!
I strained against it, tugging and pulling. The fucker locked me in! That fucking- 'Calm down!' I sucked in a deep breath. I needed to get to my Gran. She was the only one who could help me. I searched frantically around the room, looking for an escape.
Bingo!
I ran over to the window and pushed it open. I squeezed through the small gap and slipped out onto the roof, closing the window behind me. There's no going back now. I'm sorry, Ryker. I whispered before leaping and running into the woods.
Ryker
Why would she want to see her Grandmother? I get that she's the only one Ylva has left that's closest to her mother, but over the over side of the territory. Na, ah! No way!
'She was so angry yesterday.' Raiden mumbled to himself. He had to be hard on her yesterday. Lucine was a strong character, one who was wild and needed to be tamed but I knew that was easier said than done.
I ran my hand through my hair and sighed. What a mate I had. But those eyes yesterday. They were blood red with no return. She battled me, challenged me. If she wasn't mine, I would have killed her. She told me it wasn't her, then who the hell was it? She attacked me! I touched the scar on my cheek and winced. That really hurt. Pain throbbed from it as I hissed.
I needed to sort this out with Ylva. Something just wasn't right with her and I couldn't find out what, 'Maybe it's the vampire side of her that blocks us?' My wolf assumed.
