Chapter Forty Four
------Ryker
My paws pounded along the ground. I could hear the whimpers and howls of my angry pack warriors behind me. The anger burned off them, trying to intimidate one another, 'Warriors, calm down!' I ordered them. 'Intimidating each other is making you weak. Man up!'
'Sorry, Alpha.' they replied in sync.
I growled at them before concentrating on my previous mate. More anger rose, more pain spread and more punches were felt. Ylva was fighting someone, the feeling made her happy. No, Ylva. Calm! I thought, knowing I wouldn't be able to connect to her at this point. I could feel determination travelling through my bones, a sign that Ylva was making up plans. I could feel her determination to run, escape. I would save my mate. She belonged with me and nobody dared take her away from the Alpha of one of the biggest packs in the world.
I have killed. I was forced into it at Alpha School. They taught you not to care for anyone, always kill and never be threatened. Once my father heard about this, he killed them. He said and I quote, "No Alpha should be evil. A good Alpha is strong and respectable to his pack and his mate. An evil or nasty Alpha comes down easily when weakened."
I'm glad he did. I may have been the strongest to-be-Alpha but I missed my pack and my family. That may sound babyish of me, but it's true. Just like I miss Ylva. She was my rock, my other half, my Luna. Ylva was mine and no one took her from me. Blake was going to die. I can't wait to watch him bleed and suffer. I glanced over to see his pathetic mate, surrounded by a large group of strong warriors. Katie was staring at the ground. Her tense body looked up to me, guilt and apologetic looks flashed through her eyes before she looked away. I growled at her, focusing on Ylva to calm me.
'I want my mate back!' Raiden snarled, pushing me faster.
'What the fuck do you think I'm doing?' I snapped. Raiden's mood has been pissy lately and it was annoying me. I want my mate back as well, but it doesn't come fast, not with someone like Blake. We needed a good plan, good troops, and the help of others. Franklin's voice tapped into my mind.
'We're at the meeting point.' he huffed.
'Okay. We're about five minutes away. Get your troops into groups.' I replied. Franklin answered with a quick 'okay' before cutting the link.
Within a few minutes, we arrived at the meeting point. Franklin stood up to attention and bowed slightly, showing respect, "Alpha Ryker. Good to see you again, but on terrible terms. How have you been?" He asked.
I shifted back and stuffed my hands in my pocket, walking forward. "You know how." I sighed, running a hand through my hair.
"Indeed, I do. Blake is a creature of darkness, he'll do anything and use anyone to get what he wants, even if it means his mate." Franklin growled Katie's way. She flinched back and bowed, pleading in her body structure. I snickered, glaring Katie's way.
Franklin and I walked around our warriors, watching them as they set up, preparing.
"Keep those arms steady. Even if you are a wolf, you may still need to used daggers." I looked to see Owen training Team Guard, setting them up with knives and daggers as a second fighting option.
"When you go to attack, never allowed them to wrap their arms around you. They will tighten their grip and break your bones, killing you that way." I heard my Gamma, Logen, tell his team, the Back-Up squad.
