Chapter Forty Six
------Ryker
I stood waiting. Nothing has bothered me more than that. I could wait for hours for Ylva to get ready but waiting for something that could help me save Ylva? Na ah, no way.
"OH, HURRY UP!" I growled, alarming the warriors.
"Be patient, Ryker." my Beta spoke, "You know she doesn't like you as much as you don't like her."
"I'm well aware but I can't fucking be patient when Ylva's in danger!" I hissed.
I winced in pain at a sting to the cheek. I stared at a tree in horror as I placed my hand on my face. Blood drew from the area. I snarled loudly. He's fucking beating her up again! I'm going to murder him! I plunged my fist into the tree- it crumbled on impact.
'I'm going to rip his heart out!' I snapped to Raiden. My wolf has been going crazy, wanting to be let out so he can stroll in to Blake's house and rip him bone from bone. I've had to hold him back and it's straining on me.
'No, no, no. First we're going to destroy his mate, then we'll kill him.' Raiden paused for effect, 'Slowly.'
'But Blake doesn't love or even like Katie.' I imputed.
'Doesn't matter. The mate bond will cause him pain.' Raiden snarled, masking a wolfy grin. A blow to my mate's stomach impacted me, making me grunt. I leaned against the tree, coughing.
"What are they doing to you, Ylva?" I whispered. I could feel tears prick at my eyes. But I didn't let them fall. I can't be weak in front of the pack, I'm all they've got.
"Ryker?" I barely hear Reece call out. I glanced at him, "She's here."
I stood up and walked over. A sixty odd woman stood before me. A senior vampire. The familiar, plain look was on her face, unamused - which is not surprising considering on our last visit to her, Raiden threatened to kill her.
"Ah! Alpha Ryker! It hasn't been so long!" She replied sarcastically - a little like someone else I know.
"Hello, Agatha Endrin."
Yes, you read right. Agatha Endrin. The person standing in front of me, is Ylva's grandmother. The one who I threatened to kill, the one I strangled Ylva in front of - that person was the one I needed to help me.
"Lady Agatha. How pleasant to see you again. Please forgive me for our last," my Beta sent a small glare towards me, "Encounter." Reece said, bowing. Yes, Ylva's grandmother is a Lady. I guess Clyde was right when he said I know a lot about his family. However, I had never heard of him. Granted, Agatha and I barely met to talk - we weren't the best of friends.
"Hello, dear." Agatha said, pulling Reece into a hug. She may be old, but she has some strength about her. Reece was always a favourite when she visited the pack house on my Dad's orders. That's why she and her clan lived in part of our territory.
"Agatha, we need your help." I told her, directing her over to the planning area. Alpha Franklin nodded to the witch, no all fond of them to begin with. She smiled at him irrespective.
"I know what you need, Alpha! You need me to mask your scent and freeze the witches that Blake has so your warriors can kill them and you can go in and get back your mate, your Luna, my granddaughter. Correct?" Agatha stared at us.
We all looked back dumbfounded. I nodded, "Yes. Can you help us?" I asked, eager to get Ylva back.
"Well," Agatha looked down at the map and covered her mouth with her hands. "It's not impossible." I sighed in relief, "But I must abide by my laws - I cannot kill those who have not explicitly done any harm to my family themself."
"But you won't, we will!" I protested. Reece gave me a pointed look, as if to say 'like that's any better'. Raiden was on edge, mentally begging her to do it no matter what. He has never acted this way before.
"I know. I'm just messing with ya!" She laughed. A few others laughed with her, but I growled in annoyance - Ylva was in danger!
"Okay, so," I pointed at a map, "This is the area. We will all travel together until we get to here-" I pointed to about a mile away, "Then Logen's squad, or Team Back-Up, will split from us and go around their border, its only small."
Logen nodded, "That's right. And ma'am, we will protect you along with Team Guard."
Agatha nodded before Logen's younger brother spoke up, "Do vampires sleep in coffins?"
"Owen!" Logen exclaimed, looking at him in shock, "This is serious and you're here asking ridiculous questions!"
"Hey, I'm only curious!" he looked at Agatha expectantly.
The elder chuckled lightly, "That's a big stereotype from dracula stories. Do I turn into a bat? No. Do I burn in the sunlight? No. Do I sleep in coffins? No."
Owen looked amazed, "Wow, you just answered all the questions I ever had." Agatha grinned at him before gesturing for me to continue.
"Anyway." I sent a confused look towards whatever just happened before continuing, "At quarter to ten, we will move as close to their borders as we can. You will do your vampire thingy-"
"It lasts half an hour only," the vampire interrupted, "You must be quick. As soon as you kill them, burn them."
"Yes, Theo, Diego and Eden will carry matches and other fire equipment to burn them with. But before, Owen's squad, Team Guard, will check that no one is around. When you do freeze them, Team Psoriasis will attack the witches, killing them off. Reece, Clyde, Kai and I will go in the back entrance."
Ylva's Gran nodded, "But do you know your way around?"
"No, but Alpha Franklin will be there with us. He's been here before." I told her. Gran's eyes found Franklin. His eyes looked glassy, as if he was remembering the day Emerald was taken. He put his whole pack in danger that day, not a plan in sight. His wolf took over and found his Luna. He snatched her back, killing anyone in his way.
"Is this true?" She asked.
"Indeed, ma'am. My Luna, was taken. I put my pack in danger that day. But Blake wasn't as prepared as he is now. More guards, less prisoners. He has only taken people with great skill." Franklin answered.
"What kind of powers does your Luna have?" Agatha questioned.
"Healing. She can heal people of our pack. She has saved the lives of many." Franklin spoke proudly.
"Good. I'd love to meet her one day. I can put you under my protection, you are doing so much for my grandchild." Gran smiled at Franklin. The Alpha smiled back, less tense around her than he was before.
"I'm sure Emerald will love that. Thank you, Lady Agatha." Franklin shook her hand.
"Okay!" I clapped, grabbing everyone's attention, "Does everyone know the plan?" They all nodded.
I ran outside and shifted into my silver wolf. "Ylva said that your wolf reminded her of snow. She was right." Agatha laughed lightly, clambering up. Werewolves can run faster than vampires, it's a known fact. I snorted, before standing to my full height.
I howled and started to sprint towards my mate. With Franklin to my right, Reece to my left and my warriors behind me, we took off into the night.
Ylva, you're coming home. No one's going to stop me from taking what's rightfully mine!
