Chapter Thirty Two
------Ylva
Staring at the mossy ground, Ryker's arms draped around me tightened, "Please, tell me, baby. I want to help you." Ralph whispered, kissing my mark. I twitched at the contact but made no other movement. I was considering the pros and cons of telling him this.
Pro: I would have someone close who would know my story. Someone who I can trust. I knew that this would stay between Ryker and I, possibly Maisy if I told her.
Con: Ryker was very possessive. What if he went on a rampage trying to find those guys? They could already be dead and Ryker who be on the hunt for the wrong guy.
"I can't." I told him, more firmly. Tears were welling up but I refused to let them go - why start crying about something that happened years ago?
"Clyde told me a bit. But it's bugging me not knowing everything like I should." he clasps his hands tightly around my hips, pulling me in closer in a protective mannar.
I breathed deeply, fiddling with my fingers. Pro: I wouldn't have to tell him the full story if Clyde had told him some. But that left the question - how did Clyde know?
'Just tell him, Ylva. He means it when he says he'll be there for us.' Misty whimpered, 'Stop pro-coning everything and just tell him. At least he would be someone we could go to.'
"Wha-," I cleared my throat, trying not to make it sound like I was about go cry, "What did Clyde say?"
Ryker tensed and wrapped his body closer to mine, as if he was afraid to lose me, "He said these men came. They killed your mother and father when you were watching. Then he said they-" he took a heaving breath, "They abused you. He said he couldn't protect you, even though he was the same age as you. He says that someone is after you."
I stiffened. So, it was all true. The dreams, the visions, the words in my mind? All of it was true? Someone was out to get me?
That though made my heart hammer against my chest. Ryker must have heard it because he pulled me closer to him. I gripped onto his shirt as my body began to shake violently.I've never felt so useless in my life. Why was I just sat here when someone was out there after me? I should be looking for them, demanding an answer to why they were practically stalking me!
'Lucine? Do you know anything about this?' I asked, as Ryker's chin rested against my head as he stroked my hair gently.
'No I never-' then she paused. I closed my eyes to see my ampire looking scared. I saw her eyes. Dark brown, as if she was talking to someone inside.
'Lucine?'
'Lucine!' She stayed frozen, as if she wasn't alive until she suddenly gasped for air and stared at me wide eyed.
'What Lucine!?' I practically yelled.
'I-It's true' she stumbled before falling down, 'Someone's coming for you. His name is... it's...' She panicked but shook her head, 'He was the man that killed your parent and abused you!'
'Ylva! You need to tell Ryker!' Misty whined, comforting her other side.
'Blake.' Lucine whispered, 'His name... it's Blake.'
"I, uh... R-Ryker?" I swallowed, looking up at his deep forest green eyes.
"Yes, kitten?"
"There's something you should... you should know." I kept my eyes trained to the ground as I felt myself being spun around. I was surrounded by my mate's body in a protective manner, his eyes burning holes into my skull, wordlessly saying I needed to tell him.
'Tell him Ylva! Now, before I do!" Misty screeched, giving me a headache.
"It is true." I sighed, twiddling my fingers together, "People-" I took in a breath of air, suddenly feeling very claustrophobic despite being outside in the cool air, "People did kill my parents, and abused me on that fateful day." I shivered, pushing back my tears. I've cried too many times because of that night and now it's time to be strong.
I felt arms wrap tightly around my body, pulling me close to a warm and comforting chest. Burying my face, I continued, "T-The man that hurt me said then he'd see me later in life. But recently, I've been hearing his voice in my mind and I-I don't know why." I whispered, "Maybe it's PTSD, but it was so long ago and the voice seems too real for anything else."
"But Clyde said someone here knew of what's coming." Ryker mumbled. I could hear the anger laced in his voice and he was breathing heavily, high chest rising up and down.
"I-I don't know." I mumbled into his shirt.
Someone here knew that I was in danger. They knew my fate and they could've been reporting everything to this guy and I could've been in even more danger. But how would they know to come here? No one could possibly know that I was Ryker Dawson's mate.
"His name is Blake." I whispered, finally able to stop my body shivering.
A low growl rumbled from Ryker's throat. I swallowed, thinking I should have never said his name. Ryker's eyes had turned pitch black when I looked and his grip on my wrists tightened, his claws digging into my skin. I winced, whimpering, "R-Rykes." He looked down and saw his death grip, quickly retracting his claws.
"Sorry." he whispered, crossing his legs around me and hugging me close.
"Do you know Blake?"
"No." was his quick response and I decided to drop to conversation. Con: Ryker would still lie about things. I could tell he knew something, but right now, I really didn't want to push it. I wasn't in the mood to try.
Why would someone come after me? I mean, yeah, I am a Lycus and it's a rare species, but anyone could take DNA or skills and turn someone into one. It wasn't that diffult.
Maybe it was because I was a Luna. Or, going to be. Maybe it was because I was Alpha Ryker's mate. He has killed many and destroyed many, he would have a lot of enemies because of this. This is what made me fear about being any Alpha's mate. You were used as bait to bring in the kill! Yay! Please note my un-humorous sarcasm.
I sighed. This was my birthday. I wasn't meant to be upset or angry or scared. I didn't want to talk about my past because now was time to live for my future. I was meant to be having a good time, laughing, smiling, having fun.
I knew what I wanted to do. And it wasn't just because of the mate bond. Though that pull was becoming ever stronger and difficult to control. Misty and Lucine lightened up to the idea of this and pranced around like crazy inside my head. They would have no regrets.
Biting my lip, I looked up and saw Ryker's black eyes. No wolf. Just anger. I took a shaky breath before leaning towards him, pressing my lips against his. He froze, staring at me wide eyed before kissing back. Through the passion and force, I pushed his back to the ground as to not fall over myself.
I laid against his body, and continued to kiss his now, strangely, irresistible lips. Curse Misty and Lucine for there was no going back now. His hands gently gripped the back of my neck, pulling me in even closer to him, his other hand rested against the curve of my hip.
"Please, Ryker." I mumbled against his lips, opening my eyes to be greeted with his usual cocky smirk. Oh yeah, no going back now.
Pro: I loved my mate.
