Hush Hush-Joshaya

Part 10

Maya sat in the chairs of the office of her new music management.She was meeting all of the staff and then having her first meeting about what she wants from album and songs.
"So you say that you have a few songs already that you have written lyrics and created music for?"
Maya nodded and got out a tattered old book that was full to its brim of poems,music notes and lyrics.It was a book that Riley had given to her as a present when they were 10 and Maya had kept it with her every single day since.It reminded her of happier times when everyone was friends and boy drama hadn't begun.
"I keep everything in here.Would you like to hear some of the songs that I have written recently?"
Casey,Maya's manager, nodded eagerly and then led Maya to a small music room which contained a piano,guitar,microphone and beanbag chair.
"Play your heart away and I will listen to it all."

After around 5 hours Maya and Casey came out of the room very pleased with them selves.
"Well Maya they are really amazingly powerful songs for someone so young and the ideas that you have produced today are amazing.We will see on Monday evening then."
Maya wrapped her coat around herself and them stepped out onto the streets.It was getting dark and snow was beginning to fall again so Maya began to speed up a little so then she could reach the subway station.She waited for the train to arrive and then got on and took a seat before someone else could grab one.
"Maya?"
Oh no not Riley.
"Hey Riley.What are you doing here?"
Maya didn't know what to do or say so she decided to make small talk.
"Why would I not be here this is the train I would catch if I was going to go home."
Wow,attitude much?
"Oh right okay.Well sorry I asked."
Maya turned her attention back to her phone and tried to ignore Riley but she felt Riley's eyes on her face.
"It's just that I went out with Lucas and then when we where out we had an argument and I ended up running off and now I am just mad at him and myself too."
Maya looked at Riley who was clearly distressed.
"Riley,why are you saying this to me?What do you want me to do because the last time I checked you didn't want to even look at me until I told you something that I wanted to keep to myself.What do you actually want out of this?"
Riley gave Maya are questioning look.
"Oh right well sorry for trying to make things right between us,next time I won't.I don't even know why I was talking to you in the first place it's just that you where here when I wanted to rant.Whatever.This is my stop so bye."
Maya just stared at Riley in awe.Did she actually want to become friends again or was she just using her for her own selfish reasons?
Maya was sure she would find out tommorow at school.
Woohoo.
Monday.
Again.
Week 2 of life back in New York.
