Part 13

Riley sat rewatching the news report that had been showing on T.V for the past week.
'A 16 year old blonde haired girl who is 4ft 11 named Maya Hart was reported missing......'
'The search for young teen Maya Hart is still on after 7 long days of nothing..'
Riley couldn't take it anymore,she hadn't slept since Josh had told her Maya had disappeared the Sunday before and she hadn't moved from her room in a week either.Her eyes were red and swollen with tears and she hadn't spoken to anyone since finding out about Maya.
"Honey you need to talk or get out or do something.We have to hope for the best and say that Maya is going to be ok wherever she is.You can't miss anymore of school and you can't miss anymore of life."
Lucas had gone to Riley's every day since she had shut down but Riley didn't seem to care.
"Just shut up Lucas.My best friend has disappeared and she could be god knows where.She could be dead!No one can tell me how I can and can't feel about something like this and especially not you.Just because something bigger in life has happened doesn't mean I am going to forget that I am not at a point that I can like you right now.Just leave me alone.All of you."
Lucas sighed and walked out of the room but stopped at the door.
"I'm not giving up on you Riley Matthews."
Riley just blankly stared at the wall until Lucas had gone,leaving her alone.
Once she knew he had left and she was alone Riley grabbed a backpack she had hidden underneath her bed and placed on her thick coat then walked out of her window and out into the city in search of Maya Hart.

Riley had been at the airport for way over three hours when the first calls came in.First it was her mom and dad,then Lucas,then Auggie,Farkle and Josh but the one she was waiting for was Maya's.As soon as she had hit ignore for all the rest of them Riley's phone rang again and this time it was a blocked number otherwise known as Maya's number.
"Maya.Oh my its actually you.Okay.......where are you.......yep.......the flight is about to board......okay....yep I am getting ready to get on the plane as we speak.......Yeah......see you in 7 hours I guess....miss you too.......bye."
With that Riley turned off her phone and then kindly greeted the flight attendant before getting on the plane to go to her best friend.

The first thing Riley saw when she got to baggage claims was Maya's worried face.She ran upto her and hey rejoiced in a hug.
"Maya are you ok?I've missed you so damn much and the next time you do something like this you need to tell me staight away."
Maya just nodded and then led Riley out to a black SUV which they got into then drove off to where Maya had been staying for the past week.
"I know what  you think that I am stupid and pathetic but Josh said that he loved me and everything was moving too fast and I just couldn't think so I rang my manager and asked her if this slot for a writing workshop thing was still available and it was so I got on a plane and here I am.That is why you are here,you are here to help me write songs and get away from all of the idiots back in New York.I told my manager to tell my mom that I was safe and that they had it underhand and well then they kinda just got me this holiday house thing.I know it isn't huge but it will be ok for us both and don't worry we will still have school and it's only for a month anyway."
Riley just stared,shocked at Maya.She didn't know what to think.At first she was full of pity for Maya but then it changed to love because Maya wanted Riley with her.
"Well.......I can't say no to that can I?"
Maya jumped up and down with Riley and then called her manager to sort out all of the details with Riley's parents.

"I can't believe that we are actually spending a whole month in L.A alone without any boy drama or family drama.Thankyou Maya."

Wow that was a shock.I didn't actually expect to send both Maya and Riley to L.A but it happened and there they are......
