*Liam’s POV*

The only thought that ran through my head was Gracie and what was happening to her that would make her scream like that. Before I could even think of the possibilities, I slammed my shoulder into the door, splintering the wood. Standing in her living room was a tall man. I’d seen him somewhere.

“Where is she?” I snarled at the man who removed his hood and grinned at me.

“Who? That pretty brunette girl with the curves?” I felt my teeth clinch, knowing that he was thinking about my Gracie like that. “The things I bet she could do with that mouth and that body.” He gave a laugh. I felt my hand clench around his throat.  He laughed at my reaction.

“Who do you work for?” I asked as I pushed him up against a wall. He laughed.

“She wants to see you.” He said with a cocky smirk on his face that made me grit my teeth. I slammed his head up against the wall, effectively knocking him unconscious. No one talks about Gracie like that. She’s mine. She always has been.

*Gracie’s POV*

The blazing pain from my shoulder jolted me out of unconsciousness. I moaned at the pain, trying to remember what was going on. That’s right someone broke in... and Liam he came. Liam’s here. What if he’s in trouble? What if he gets hurt because of me? I was trying to protect him!

I shakily sat up, looking around the room. The lamp that was on my nightstand was lying in a heap of broken glass on the ground.  The mirror over my dresser had a large crack going down the middle of it. I stood up and walked to my closed door, carefully avoiding the shards of glass.

I found that with every movement, pain shot through my body. It started at the back of my right shoulder and radiated out from there. Before I opened the door, I leant down and picked up a large shard of glass, thinking that it would offer me some protection.

Cautiously, I opened the door. It squeaked quietly on it’s hinges.

“She wants to see you.” That was the mans voice. I could hear the smirk in his voice as he chuckled. The sound was abruptly cut of with a pounding sound, like something had been thrown against the wall.

“Gracie!” I heard Liam yell for me. It sounded like he was in the living room. I clutched the glass tighter, feeling the ridges burrow into my skin. I could hear the soft pattering of liquid hitting the hardwood floor as I slowly stepped down the hallway.

“Let’s go have a chat with Li, alright?” I heard a cold voice whisper into my ear. My blood ran cold as I felt the barrel of a gun press against my right shoulder. “Drop it.” She hissed, pressing the gun harder into my back, I dropped the glass, letting it clatter to the ground. “Walk.” I walked slowly into the living room, tears running down my cheeks. Liam was standing across the room, in front of the piano.

“Oh my God! Gracie?” He was about to take a step toward me when the woman’s dark figure followed close behind  me.

“Hello Liam. Long time no see.”

“Danielle.” Liam said bitterly, eyes locked on me. “Let her go. This doesn’t concern her.” He said shaking his head, the desperation was clear in his voice.

“Oh, but you’re so wrong. It has everything to do with her.” I heard metallic click as the gun was forced farther into my back, causing me to clench my teeth, and tears to spring from my eyes. I saw his eyes get wide as he heard the click. “See. You still love her. For the life of me, I don’t know why.” Liam looked pained to his very core. “So many ways I could kill her.” We both tensed at her chilling words.
