My heart was racing, as I frantically scattered about the house collecting my things.

I went upstairs to my room to put on my oversized gray cardigan and my grey polka dot converses.

Then quickly ran back down stairs to grab my keys from the counter.

"Come on Nash! Hurry up," I yelled.

"Okay Iva, I'm coming."

With that we were both out of the house swiftly as I locked the door behind me.

I walked not caring for the rain that would drentch me because that wasn't on my mind. All I knew was that I had to get to that hospital and quick.

Nash's P.O.V.

I was worried. Worried if whether or not she was okay, but she seemed alright.

We were in the car and she was driving pretty fast so I had to tell her to slow down.

"Iva. Iva... IVA!"

I yelled her name almost snapping her out of a trance that she didn't know she was in.

"Hm? What Nash?"

"You're going too fast."

"Oh. Sorry about that."

Her foot eases off of the pedal and I feel the car slow down to a more appropriate speed. Then we get to a complete stop when the light turns red.

She's biting down on her lip and I could see her hands shaking.

I could hear her mumbling something rather quickly as she closed her eyes.

She was praying.

She opened her eyes as the light turned to green and she took a left turn into the hospitals parking lot.

The car stopped as she parked and turned it off.

She sat there and stared straight for a minute until she turned to me.

Her eyes were filled with worry and sadness. I could tell that she wanted to breakdown, but she refused to.

I grabbed her hand and squeezed it.

"Are you ready Iva?"

"Yeah," she said with a raspy voice.

With that we got out of the car and walked into the hospital.

Ivana's P.O.V.

I hated hospitals though my mother worked in one. Every time I went there was always bad news. The last time I went to the hospital for an emergency, I was being told that Jer had died. I don't know what I'd do if I was told that Asher had met the same fate. But I couldn't think like that, so I forced myself to proceed.

I walked in slowly beginning to get numb by the over baring stench of death that followed you around like it  was a cloud hanging over your head.

I glided over to the front desk where a familiar face peeked up.

It was Melissa.

Mel was my mothers friend. She started working at the hospital only about three years ago, but in those three years she's been someone who I could go to with a problem when my mom wasn't able to talk at the hospital.

She knew me very well and from the expression on my face she could tell something was wrong.

"Hey Iva," she said with a comforting smile, hut sadly I couldn't return the same gesture.
