19. A kiss isn't always bliss

I thanked Grace, payed her, and we then said our goodbyes, before I exited the café and walked straight into the pouring rain.  Josh was standing at the end of the street so I spun on my heel and went the other direction, purposely trying to ignore him. Hoping he wouldn't turn around and start running after me.

Which is not exactly what happened. I just wanted to get home to Joe. But, No! Josh has to make a drama out of everything!

"Caspar! Caspar Richard Lee, stop right there." He spoke firmly.

The rain dampened my clothes making them stick to my body as I clutched my sides. I continued walking.

"CASPAR!" Josh called, I could hear his feet moved against the pavement, faster and faster toward me.

I began to pick up the pace, but a hand grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled me back.

"JOSH! LET GO!" I screamed out.

The rain was begging to get really heavy now and both of us were soaking wet. My tears weren't even noticeable. It was dark too.

"NO, CASPAR! WHY DO YOU EVEN SPEND TIME WITH THAT FAG?!? WHAT HAPPENED TO US? WHAT HAPPENED TO BEING BEST FRIENDS?!" He yelled over the rain.

The only word that stuck out was 'Fag.' Did he seriously go there?

"THATS FUCKING LOW JOSH. EVEN FOR YOU! MAYBE YOU SHOULD STOP BEING SO JEALOUS. DON'T YOU EVER USE THAT FUCKING WORD EVER AGAIN! DONT EVER SAY THAT ABOUT JOE, EVER!!" I screamed.

I shoved him backwards and he stumbled a far way back. I was trying to contain my anger.

I expected him to run off or give up.

No, he charged at me.

He ran into me and pushed me into a pole behind me. He pinned me against it and I struggled against his force. Pain shot through my body, my heart was racing and I was so scared about what Josh was going to do. I've seen him angry before and that was bad but I've never seen him this angry before.

"WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT JOE? HUH WHY HIM OVER ME?!" He was furious.

I could see the fire burning in his eyes, his fists balled up and his teeth clenched. My heart raced with adrenaline. I would fight for Joe. I would fight for him and I will fight for him everyday.

I pushed myself off and he let go of me. I got right in his face, our faces only millimetres apart.

"BECAUSE HE TREATS ME RIGHT, HE LOVES ME, HE RESPECTS ME, AND  I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. YOU WEREN'T THAT PERSON, JOSH. YOU NEVER HAD BEEN AND IF THIS WAS ONE OF YOUR PLANS TO GET ME TO 'LOVE YOU BACK' OR TAKE ME AWAY FROM JOE IT WONT WORK!" I balled all my emotions in a spit of anger.

I loved Joe. I knew I did.

"ALL I WANTED CASPAR WAS TO SEE YOU AGAIN, OK? I WANTED TO KNOW I STILL MATTERED TO YOU!!"

That made my heart sink.

I froze. I looked him in the eyes. All I saw was hurt. Even in the darkness his pain was more noticeable than anything.

"Josh.. I can't-"

He moved closer to me and pulled me close to him. Suddenly my lips were against his he was kissing me, actually kissing me. He tried to deepen the kiss. There were no fireworks, nothing. I felt nothing.
