Jake's pov.
Me and Caroline were dancing to a slow song, but I couldn't help get distracted by Ava and Ted talking. Ted seemed excited while Ava seemed on edge."I think it's time to blow this thing off and go to your house." Caroline suggested.
"Yeah?" I sighed, keeping my eyes on Ava. She looked beautiful tonight . . . well, I always think she looks beautiful.
"I told Tracy, Ava, Robin and those guys to come to your parents house, okay?" Caroline asked.
I just simply nodded my head. I didn't want my house getting trashed again but if Ava was going to be there, I didn't mind.
"I told them not to tell anyone. God, I love it when your parents are out of town. I fantasize that I'm your wife and we're like the richest and most popular adults in town. I owe all my great weekends to you." Caroline fantasizes. That will be the day I marry her. "What's your problem?" She suddenly snapped at me.
I slowly take my eyes away from Ava and Ted who was dancing around her. "What?" I asked innocently.
"You've been acting weird all night. Are you screwing around?"
"Me?" I scoffed. "Are you crazy?" I asked, a little quieter.
"I don't know, Jake. I'm getting strange signals."
"Well they're not coming from me." I sigh. "Look, everything's fine. Don't have a cow."
"Okay, just remember one thing, I can name twenty guys who would kill to love me." Caroline lowered her voice, slowing down her dancing.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Is that a threat?"
"It's a fact, Jake." She laughs lightly, even though I didn't find that funny. "Come on, before we get in a big wicked fight, let's get outta here." She pulled back from me as she started walking towards Robin and Tracy.
I sighed and started to walk to the back room where everyone kept their coats.
Ava's pov.
I entered the coat room once I got away from the geek who's name I didn't know, again.I walked in as I saw a few people hanging around in there. Some people were leaving, and some people were just getting here.
I started to search for my coat where I left it, but I couldn't find it. I looked harder as someone tapped my shoulder. I turned my head to see no one there, then I turned my head the other way to see Jake standing there with a sly grin.
"Get you every time." He smirked.
I couldn't help but smile. "Whatever."
"Are you going to my place after this?" He asked, leaning on the table I was looking for my coat on.
"I don't know. Caroline, Sarah, and Kaitlyn invited me but Sam would be all alone and I'm not up for partying tonight." I shrugged. Of course I was lying, I was always up for partying.
"I now you're lying." Jake said, grabbing a black coat that looked like mine. "And do you mean Tracy and Robin?" He smiled.
My face dropped in realization. "That's their names?" I guess I didn't know their names. Whoops?
"Yeah." He laughed. "And this is your coat." He handed me the coat he grabbed, smirking.
I did my best to hold back a smile. I quickly grabbed my coat out of his hands and started to walk off.
"Wait." Jake ordered, grabbing onto my arm. "Are you coming to mine?"
I sighed. "I don't know." I shrugged. "You should be spending more time with your girlfriend." I smirked, knowing he wanted to break up with her after the dance.
"I'll do that tomorrow." He spoke quickly, referring to when he was going to break up with her. "Just come to my house, okay?" He asked.
I huffed. "Fine."
