Jake's pov.
I drove up to the church parking lot to look for Ava. I soon found out that Sam's sister was in fact the one getting married, not Ava.I pulled into the parking lot only to see my girlfriend and Ted kissing in the back of my dad's car.
"Shit." I mumbled, not believing what I just saw.
"Jake." Caroline sighed, noticing me in my car as she pulled away from Ted. Ted looked like he was going to pass out.
I got out of the car as Caroline walked over to me.
"I'm dead." I heard Ted mumble before the phone started to ring. Who would be calling Ted in my dad's car?
I sighed. "I'm sorry about getting you mixed up with that guy." I stuffed my hands in my pockets.
"Oh, it's okay. It wasn't too terrible." Caroline shrugged. "Weird?" Her faced scrunched up. It couldn't have been any more awkward between us.
I shook my head.
"I'm really sorry about last night." Caroline continued. "The party . . . lots of things. You know, neither one of us is gonna die if it doesn't happen for us."
That was it. She broke up with me and I could finally be happy with Ava. Now I'm turning into a sap.
I couldn't help but smile. "That's true."
"I just don't know right now." Caroline looked up at me. "But I'm covered, okay, I won't get hurt."
"Sure." I nodded, not knowing what else to say. I just wanted to go into that church and be with Ava.
"I'll leave it up to you." Caroline smirked. I had a feeling she knew I actually liked Ava instead of her.
I just nodded my head and got back into my car, Caroline going back to Ted. I'm pretty sure they had sex in the back of my dad's car.
Who would've thought that the most popular girl in school would end up with the geek?
