I'd like to dedicate this chapter to the lovely tashanando for supporting my first book!! Thank you!
My mother hadn't even turned the car off yet when I made a beeline for the front door. She gave me a questioning glance, but didn't discuss anything further after dad led us into our home.
I dashed to the supply closet soon to return with a bucket of cleaning supplies and the mop. Dawned with yellow gardening gloves, I began to pave my way through the house. I dusted the living room, vacuumed, mopped our hard wood floors, and even straightened out that dungeon of David's. It took me around two hours to finish my cleaning spree, and even I hadn't realized how much I accomplished until I was done.
"You missed a spot," my mother pointed out.
I took out a damp sponge and wiped the final smudge from the large window. Sighing in satisfaction, I turned to my parents.
"Was all that necessary?" my mother finally questioned.
I shrugged. "I was a bit bored to be honest, and I knew you guys would force me to clean as punishment anyways."
"There has to be another reason..." dad trailed off.
"Well, I do think that I deserve some alone time, without being bombarded with your words."
"Fine. You're off the hook for now... Right after you sanitize the bathrooms!"
I mentally groaned as I scrubbed the grime in the toilet bowl.

My stomach bubbled with laughter as I watched this old lady rap. I had sneaked into my brother's room to get on the Internet and check on what accounts I had left.
"Check out my mixtape!" the old lady began. "I gotta marshmallow 'fro and a lotta lotta--"
"WHOA!"
That was me getting scared at having the headphones ripped from my ears. David was back from whatever game he attended, looking madder than ever.
"What exactly are you doing in my room?!" He exclaimed.
"Pipe down bad boy, I was just getting ready to leave," I told him.
"You're breaking our parent's rules."
"Firstly, you aren't my boss, secondly, that expensive device over there is mine, and thirdly, since when have you became a goody-two-shoes?"
He rolled his eyes before pushing me out of there with his door. How polite of him.
Our parents had been gone most of the day, and it was late afternoon. I wondered how long it will take them to ask me a question. After all, they did a pretty good job of keeping our promise the day before.
I flicked on the television and settled for an old superhero movie that started playing. Only 10 minutes into the movie, a loud knock could be heard on the door.
Standing on my tippy-toes, I squinted th right the peep hole. Seeing as it was my parents, I proceeded to open the door.
They greeted me before heading to the kitchen to organize their hoard of groceries.
"You have a visitor!" sang my father quite cheerfully.
I whipped around to find the last person I wanted to deal with.
