You know how Maya mentioned that some of the events from last time would undoubtedly repeat themselves? Well, that's what was happening now.

My Instagram had all of its pictures deleted, my Facebook had restarted, and my YouTube, of course, became terminated.

I wasn't too worried about it like I was the first time it happened, but I felt a bit mad at the world. It was useless to try and fix it, so I refrained from going on any of my social media accounts.

I'd reached out to my new tech-friends on the matter about a week ago (week ago!), but they hadn't had any luck on restoring my data.

Just because I was in the midst of another déjà vu crisis, it didn't mean I could skip school. Twisting my combination for my locker, I grabbed all the supplies I would need for my first two classes.

Walking at an unusually fast pace, I neared my homeroom in hopes of avoiding any questions about my social endeavors. My hand reached out to the door handle, but not before someone tapped my shoulder.

"Hey, I know your in a hurry, but do you have a minute?" asked Kyle.

"Uh, sure," I replied to him.

He fumbled with his laptop for a moment before showing me my Facebook, with all of my media on it.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!" I squealed.

"Don't thank me yet," was all he said when he showed me my Instagram with all of my old feed. "I searched up your full name, and I found your account, after looking at countless others, with a new username," he explained.

Before I could utter another word of appreciation, he clicked on the final tab to show a restored YouTube account complete with with videos and subscribers.

I gasped. This kid went through the all this trouble just for me.

"I can't believe this is actually happening! I don't even know how to thank you..."

"I really don't want anything. I'm always happy to help, and besides, I've had my YouTube account terminated in more than one occasion."

"It's the least I could do. I'll meet you after school to give you some money for  helping me," I decided before giving him a peck on the cheek.

As I entered the class I could hear someone yelling, "Just get together already!"

I walked home with a lighter step on my foot, knowing that none of my online stuff was actually gone.

I had a quick chat with Nina on the way, planning a future trip to the mall, before unlocking the front door of my house.

I was just beginning to settle in, when I received a text message from my brother, David.

Get over to the hospital ASAP.

My stomach dropped. Not again...

I slowed down to catch my breath when reached the outside of my grandmother's room. From where I was, I could see a couple nurses scurrying around her, checking vitals, and my immediate family standing near.

When I entered, everyone's attention was focused on me, and the nurses exited to give me some space. I walked over to her resting figure, and held her hand loosely in mine. David, my aunt, and my cousin Natalie acknowledged my presence before following the nurses outside.

"What happened?" I asked my parents.

"The doctor found out it was heart failure, which is very uncommon in our family," my father spoke grimly.

"We'll let you two have a couple moments alone," my mother announced.

Once I heard the click of the door, I turned back to my beloved grandmother. Why did history have to repeat itself? I thought we had won the battle.

I was startled back into reality when a soft hand touched my shoulder. I turned to see Maya standing in a pale pink gown.

I looked between the figure standing up and the one on the bed in confusion and horror.

"Don't worry Jasmine, this is only my spirit self," she reassured me.

"Why did this have to be?" I began, "If there's any chance of getting you back, I'll take it. Just tell me how much longer we have."

"There is no need to do so because it is too late," she spoke quite calmly, " This is something we can't change, and a basic fact of everyone's lives."

"No. I can't let you do this to yourself--"

"At least this time we'll get the chance to say goodbye," she interjected. I nodded in defeat and gave her spirit a longing hug.

As we pulled away she gave a small wave.

"Goodbye," I whispered.

"I can only hope to see you and everyone else again," we're her last words before she dematerialized from existence.

A lone tear escaped my eye before pooling on the back of my grandmother's frail hand on the bed as the straight line on the monitor marked the end of her legacy

A lone tear escaped my eye before pooling on the back of my grandmother's frail hand on the bed as the straight line on the monitor marked the end of her legacy.

As I waited for everyone to come rushing back into the room, I couldn't help but force a bittersweet smile at the thought of her favorite tune.

"The memory of being here with you
Is what I'm gonna take my life through,
'Cause some days stay gold
forever..."
