Kevin's POV
I ran out the door, hearing Steven saying a muffled goodbye. I quickly checked my watch while running the two blocks to the bus stop. If I kept running, I should be able to make right on time.
Eventually I ran passed the street sign that my bus stop was at. I hopped into the bus since it arrived a few minutes early and was waiting for any late kids like me. I got a sharp look from the bitchy bus driver, but ignored it. I felt some curious stares as I walked down the aisle. Normally I'm one of the first people at the bus stop, so it was unusual for me to be late.
I slid into my regular seat in the back, and saw an unfamilliar face. He was a tall latino boy with square glasses. He was wearing an orange hoodie that had fox ears sticking out of the hood. He shot me a kind smile when I sat next to him.
"Hey, I'm Eddie, who are you?" He asked, his voice thick with an accent.
"I'm Kevin, are you new here?" I said. I smirked when I saw his face after I spoke. A lot of people don't expect my voice to be so deep, so it's funny to see their reactions.
He let out a giggle that made me grin stupidly.
"Yeah, I just moved here about a week ago."
"That's cool. So what's up with the fox hoodie?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know, they're just really cool," Eddie said while shrugging. I nodded.
After awhile Eddie asked, "Do you like videogames?"
"Hell yeah! I love them."
"Ever heard of minecraft?" I nodded.
"I've heard of it, but I never really got into it." Eddie smiled.
"Do you maybe want to come to my house and hang out? I could show you how awesome minecraft is." Eddie said.
"Okay, but I have to stop by my house real quick and...feed my dog." I said. Eddie nodded.
"Alright, cool. Meet me out by the school's front gate when you're done okay?"
"Okay." I said as the bus pulled up to our school. Me and Eddie made our way out and walked in through in the man gates.
"See ya at lunch?" Eddie asked hopefully.
"Sure, see you then." I said as I made my way toward my first class.
I hope Steven is okay with staying alone for a few more hours, I thought as I sat down in my seat sighing.
