Steven's POV
I woke up to the sound of a gentle snore. I blinked my eyes open and smiled when I saw Kevin next to me. We were still in the same position as last night, except Kevin had slumped his head so he was laying on the pillow.
"Kevin," I murmured, shaking him gently.
"Huh? What? Do I have school today?" Kevin said groggily, obviously not fully awake.
"School? What's that? Is it fun?" I asked, tipping my head to the side curiously.
"Oh. No Steven, school is not fun. You sit around and do work all day, it sucks." He said, stretching.
"Oh, well than why do you go? You can just stay here, can't you?"
"Well, if I don't go I can't really get a job. Knowledge is required for all jobs, except for jobs at restaurants and stores."
"Oh." I said, still confused.
"Wait..oh shit! I do have school today!" Kevin said, jumping out of bed, knocking me off of him. I gasped in surprised. I watched with confusion as Kevin scrambled around to get clothes and a bag of some sort.
"When will you be back?" I asked, not wanting to stay by myself.
"I'll be back at around 2:30, be good, and stay inside. There's poptarts in the pantry if you get hungry." Kevin yelled, jogging down the stairs while butttoning his denim jeans.
"Oh! And makes sure no one sees you, they might try to take you back to the lab." Kevin said.
"Wait, why?"
Kevin sighed before saying, "There's a reward for anyone that finds you and takes you back to that hellhole. I don't want that to happen." I smiled and nodded.
So he doesn't want me to go back, I'm glad. May be he like- no Steven, stop. Don't think like that. You like girls, right?
To be honest, I actually didn't know the answer. The only girl I had seen was that little Anna girl in Kevin's backyard.
"Bye Steven!" Kevin yelled, interrupting my thoughts.
"Uh, bye!" I said as he closed the door and locked it.
Now I'm alone again, time to try those videogame things in Kevin's room. Heh.
