Adeline's POV
I put on my silver heels and gazed at the mirror. I must admit, I did a pretty good job to myself.
"Ready? We're on the first dance," Eva said, appearing next to me. She looked wonderful as well, with a light blue dress which went in at the waist, showing her figure. The straps were silver and she wore matching silver heels with a little light blue bow on each shoe. The fabric crossed over her chest, making her look simple yet elegant. She also wore light blue earings and a silver necklace which is a family heirloom. I have a matching one.
"Alexander will faint when he sees you," I said.
"So will James," she replied, "Go with that pair of earrings," pointing to the lilac one, "it goes nice with the dress."
I put those earrings on, as well as the necklace. Eva and I walked out together.
James' POV
She looks beautiful, ten times more stunning than the time she tried out the dress at the shop. She looked perfect, with the make up and stuff.
She literally took my breath away.
"You look, stunning," I said.
"Thank you," Adeline said, blushing.
We were on the first dance, since Adeline was a champion.
There was Catriona with Steven, Catrina with Raymond, the Head Boy.
Surprisingly, Phineas Crabbe, was the date of Gabrielle, while Elgar was the date of Lydia.
Alexander was with Eva.
Vladimir and Victoria are going as siblings.
The Great Hall has been transformed into a magnificent ballroom. The decorations are beautiful.
"Wow," Adeline said, "The Hall looks gorgeous."
"You look even more gorgeous," I complimented.
"You really think so?" she asked.
"Yes, I do," I said and kissed her cheek, swaying her along the music.
We danced perfectly in sync with everyone else. While dancing, I spotted my parents, aunt Hermione and uncle Ron, Al and Annabelle, Scorp and Lily, and even Professor Longbottom, aka uncle Neville with aunt Luna on the dance floor.
We danced and twirled aroumd the Great Hall. After about five or six dances, we grew tired and decided to get a drink.
Scorpius and Lily were chatting happily beside the drink table, both of them were holding a punch.
"Let's get a punch," I suggested.
"What's that?" Adeline asked.
"It's butterbeer mixed with fruit," I answered, "You don't have it in Germany?"
She shook her head, "Sounds nice, I'll try it."
"Hey Lils, hey Scorp," I said.
"Hey Jem, Adeline," Lils smiled.
"Hi James and you Adeline," Scorp said.
"Hello," Adeline smiled.
I was about to get one of the cups of punch when Lils stopped me, "Don't get that one."
"What?"
"That one's spiked," she said, and grabbed different ones instead, "Drink these," handing one to me and another to Adeline.
Just for a precaution, I thought. I told Adeline not to drink it before I test if it's spiked or not. As a result, both cups were not spiked. Great!
Adeline loved the punch a lot. She grabbed another cup of punch but unfortunately, that cup was spiked. She made a face after drinking a sip.
"Ugh, how come the last cup tastes nice, but this cup tastes bad?" she exclaimed.
I took the cup from her and drank some, "Because this one's spiked. Spiked punch tastes really bad."
We danced some more and settled down for dinner. This time, I properly introduced Adeline to my parents. Although they already know who she is, I still decided to introduce her in my own way.
I could tell dad was impressed by her performance at the first task, and mum was pretty fond of her already.
Mum invited her to join us for Christmas tomorrow and she agreed. Yes!! More time to spend with her.
The Ball ended at 10 and I walked Adeline back to her living quater.
I met Al on the way as I trudged back to the common room.
"You're really in love with her, aren't you?" Al teased.
"What makes you think that?" I asked
pointedly. He scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Oh please, I saw you two kissing at the corner when mum and dad didn't notice."
I blushed.
"Is she coming with us tomorrow?"
"Yep."
"Goodnight, Jem. See you tomorrow."
"Goodnight Al."
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
