I was in complete shock as I saw Alex running towards me.

He instantly scooped me into a hug, Alex was never the type to hug. Especially me, we hated each other.

I awkwardly let him keep his arms around me for a few seconds. He pulled back, a gigantic smile on his face, "I missed you!" He said, pulling me into another tight hug.

I pulled away, looking over at Jake, his eyes were focused on Alex, and he did not look happy.

"Hey." I mumbled to Alex, taking a step next to Jake. I leaned into his ear, "he's my brother." I mumbled to him. I instantly felt him loosen up, "I'll see you tomorrow." I said, planting a kiss on his cheek.

He smiled, "I'll see you then." He whispered, I watched him walk away.

God, he was so perfect.

"Who's that?" Alex asked, I turned to him. "Jake, my boyfriend," It felt so amazing to be able to actually say that to someone.

"Since when did you become interested in the male species? I thought you were lesbian or something." He started laughing, mom smacked his chest with the back of her hand. It was my turn to laugh as he cringed.

"What the hell are you doing here anyway? Did your college finally realize how low your IQ really is and kicked you out?" I questioned, a smirk on my face.

"No Nova, I'm here because of something else, the idiot that helped concie-"

"Why don't we go back in and have something to eat, come on let's go!" Mom cut him off, I raised an eyebrow. Alex just sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

We followed behind her into the house, she went into the kitchen leaving Alex and me behind.

He looked at me with a disgusted look, I rolled my eyes.

"Hey mom! I can't eat the same table with this beast!" Alex cried out, he chuckled to himself. "Obviously you can't, remember the rule, no dogs at the dinner table." I said, proud at my comeback.

He snickered.

Mom came into the living room, "will both of you stop it! All I want is a nice dinner with my two kids, the both of you haven't seen each other in almost a year! Just please act like you're at least happy to be related to each other, for just one dinner!" She snapped at the both of us.

We looked at each other before nodding and say fine at the same time.

She smiled, "good, now let's eat!" She led us to the table where three plates of pasta rested. It actually looked pretty good.

We sat down and started eating, we got into conversation about how Alex was doing great in school and how he met this girl named Bridgette he was interested in.

Mom talked about her new book and how well it was going, she also commented on my relationship with Jacob and how I have no friends.

I rolled my eyes, she just loved to talk about me.

After we were finished, there was an awkward silence at the table.

"Mom, you should tell her." Alex suddenly spoke up. I furrowed my eyebrows, "tell me what?" I questioned.

Mom sighed, "Nova your father, he's..."

She paused.

"You mean Nova, that idiot that conceived you  and has no right to even call himself your father, more like a sperm donor." Alex said, mom smacked him once again.
