15: "So, tell me about vampires?"

I traced my fingers through his hair, before sitting up.

The cold weather was the first thing I noticed. I quickly wrapped my arms around myself, trying to keep from the cold, I could hear the sounds of rain pelting the roof of the garage.

I looked over at Jake, he lay peacefully, still in his sleep.

A part of me wanted to wake him up, to feel his warmth again. But, I knew I couldn't, Jake deserved sleep right now.

I quickly and slowly slip off the back of the truck, I looked over at Jake one last time, a smile forming on my face. I looked away, making my way out of the garage. The rain was falling harder than I thought, I sighed, putting my hood on and taking off running into it.

I ran towards the main road, thankfully I knew my way home from all the times I had visited Jake.

Halfway down the road, I was already soaked in water.

I let my hood fall back, it wouldn't keep me anymore dry by now. My hair was beginning to get soaked as I kept running.

"Nova!"

I turned around, looking around to see who was calling my name.

There was no one behind me, at least no one I could see.

"Hey Nova!"

The same person had called my name, out of the green forest came out Seth, a smile on his face. I smiled, I hadn't seen Seth in a while.

"What are you doing out here?" He asked, I noticed he was shirtless, his body also soaked in water. Unlike me he was probably all warm, I was freezing my ass off.

"Just heading home." I replied, wiping my eyes from the rain. "I'll walk you there." He offered, walking next to me. I didn't decline it, it would be nice to have some company. "Aren't you going to get sick?" He asked, as we walked down the road..

"Probably, aren't you?" I asked, he shook his head, "nah, I'm a shape shifter remember? If a bullet can't kill me, I highly doubt I'll get sick from the cold."

"Really?" I questioned, Jake had never really told me much about being a shape shifter, only the basics such as imprinting, the speed, the extreme strength, and the enhanced senses. To be honest, Jacob hasn't told me anything about being a shape shifter, or anything he's gone through, he's never even spoken about vampires.

I stopped in my tracks, Seth turned around to look at me.

"What?" He asked, I looked up at him.

"Seth, will you tell me what it's like to be a shape shifter?" I asked, he looked surprised, "uh, I don't know Nova." He scratched the back of his head, "I don't want Jake to get mad at me for telling you."

"Don't worry about him, I'll protect you from him. But, you have to tell me everything, I want to know all about it, and I want to know about vampires." I said, he looked unsure, looking around him as if Jake was hiding somewhere in the trees.

"Please Seth."

He sighed, "fine."

I couldn't help but smile, "thank you!"

He laughed, "you're welcome."

We continued walking towards my house, as we reached the front porch I said goodbye to Seth before running to the side of the house towards my window and quietly sneaking in. The first thing I did was undress and get in the shower.

I dressed into a pair of sweatpants and a t shirt.

I slowly opened my door to check if mom was still asleep, thankfully she was. I peaked into the living room where Alex was soundly asleep on the couch.
