Jacob.
"Nova?"
She turned around, trying her best to smile, but I knew she was worried. I walked towards her, pulling her in towards my chest and kissing the top of her head.
"How will we know when they get here?" She questioned, taking a step back to look at me.
"Chances are Alice will have a vision," I said, "it'll all be okay. I promise."
"What do we do until then?"
I picked her up, "well, I have an idea."
She laughed, wrapping her arms around my neck and softly kissing my cheek. "Not now Jake." She whispered in my ear, "and why not?" I asked. "We're home alone and I know you want to," I whispered back, dropping her on the bed.
"Jacob Black calm yourself, now is not the time to do this!" She scolded me.
I pouted, trying to look cute so she'd change her mind.
"Ew stop, you look ugly."
I frowned at her statement while she laughed. "Just kidding, but seriously not now!"
I smiled, nodding and just taking her into my arms so she sat in between my legs and her head rested on my chest.
"What if we never met?"
Her voice filled the comfortable silence of the air, "why do you ask that?"
She shrugged, "I don't know it just came to mind."
I sighed, I had never thought of it, nor did I want to think about it. Life without Nova just doesn't seem like a life at all. If anything I'd just be depressed all the time. But, she's my imprint. We would have to find each other someday. If she was destined to be my soul mate, I would eventually find her. Right?
"Then we would meet sometime later in life," I answered. "You're my imprint, Nova, we're kind of meant for each other."
She turned around to look at me, a half smile on her lips. "You're right." She giggled, leaning in to kiss my cheek.
"Can we do it now?" I asked.
She laughed, letting herself fall into me so her chest rested on top of mine. She softly pressed her lips against mine.
I was glad to see her happy, I wanted her to take her mind off the Volturi. I closed my eyes, listening to the softness of her breath. The feeling of her body pressed against mine was something irreplaceable. All that was going through my head was how much I lover and repeating it over and over and over again. I wouldn't let a single thing in this world hurt her, and there was no chance in hell I would let those bloodsuckers lay a finger on her.
She's my imprint, the one person that was put on this earth for me to love unconditionally and devote my entire life to.
I remember always thinking that Bella was the love of my life, that she and I were meant to be together, not her and Edward. But the supposed "love" I felt for Bella is nothing compared to what I feel for Nova. It's something so much more, a type of feeling that's hard to describe. The day I met Nova everything had stopped, the love I had for anything else in this world was nothing compared to what I felt for her. And as we kissed, breathing our love and soul into each other, all the time in this world could pass us by and no other moment could ever surpass this one.
She parted her lips from mine, making her way closer and taking a seat on my lap. Her eyes looked into mine, taking me back to that first day I ever laid eyes on her.
I could hear her heart beat, one beat after another. It sounded so in rhythm, I couldn't help but feel as if I need to know who the heart beat belonged to, so perfect, more precious than any other heart beat I've heard before. I turned on my heels, everything stopped.
Her gaze was on me, her eyes, warm and light. A mix of green with brown, the perfect color. There was something growing inside of me, not heat or a burn, but a glowing sensation. I felt everything inside of me coming to a stop, she was beautiful. Her features were perfect, it felt as if it wasn't gravity that was holding me down to this earth.
It was her.
I'd never forget.
"I love you," I whispered as I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
"I love you too..."
She kissed me again, only more passionate this time. And I knew where this was heading, which made it so much better.
____
Two days had passed and we still didn't have any news on the Volturi. The Cullens were preparing along with the pack just in case anything were to happen. Nova spent a lot of her time worrying, looking out the window as if they'd appear any second.
"You should take her out somewhere."
Edward suddenly appeared at my side, "it's not good for her to be stuck inside all this time worrying. Take her out, when was the last time you guys went on a date?"
There was no need for me to answer when he had probably read my mind. It had been forever since Nova and I had been on a date. We spent most of our time just relaxing at home.
"You're right," I admitted, walking over towards Nova.
"We're going on a date?" She questioned, I forgot she could hear everything. "You know how to swim right?" I asked, her smile was all I needed for an answer.
_____
"I've never done this before Jake."
"Don't worry," I assured her as I took her hand in mine. "It's not like we're going to die, we're practically immortal." I joked.
She laughed, rolling her eyes at me.
"Ready?"
She smiled, "Ready."
I couldn't help but laugh as she screamed next to me.
The water suddenly engulfing us, I never let go of her hand as we surfaced. She let out a heavy breath of air. She giggled, looking around, she couldn't believe she had just jumped off a cliff into the ocean. I pulled her in closer, wrapping an arm around her waist.
For a moment, we stayed silent, embracing the sound of the waves crashing against the cliff wall.
"It's so nice out here," she mumbled. "We should have done this a long time ago ."
She swam away, letting herself float on her back and looking up at the blue sky. I swam towards her pulling her back in and kissing her. Se responded with a laughter, slipping her arms around my neck and wrapping her legs around my waist. Holding her up was easy as our lips moved in complete sync.
I never wanted to let her go.
She quickly pulled back, breaking our kiss. The most beautiful smile rested on her rosy lips. Drops of water running down her face, neck and chest. They fell from her eyelashes every time she blinked.
"Do you have any idea how much I love you?" She laughed.
The sound of her laughter only made me smile in response.
"So much Jacob Black. More than I think you'll ever know!"
She crushed her lips against mine once again, hugging me tighter than ever before.
I smiled into the kiss, hoping she had forgotten about everything else and only enjoying this moment.
Just as much as I was.
