Nova

I got out of bed just as my alarm started to beep.

I quickly turned it off, getting out of bed, all of a sudden starting to feel dizzy.

I fell back onto my bed, taking a deep breath. The feeling in my stomach was definitely not good, I put a hand over my mouth. My stomach churning, and I knew I was going to throw up.

I ran to the bathroom, making it just in time to throw up in the toilet.

What felt like five minutes passed by, my vomiting uncontrollable. It wouldn't stop, my stomach was now in pain. As soon as I felt like I was alright, it would start up again.

All of a sudden it stopped, I fell back.

Taking a deep breath I managed to get up, looking over into the toilet.

I gasped, the toilet water was full of blood.

I looked away, feeling nauseous again.

I flushed the toilet, horrified that I had just puked up blood. It must have been from when I ate yesterday. I drank from a deer on my way home from school.

I got up, walking to the sink and brushing my teeth.

I looked in the mirror, my eyes looked dead. I sighed, walking back into my room to get ready for school. When suddenly I got nauseous again, I ran back into the bathroom.

I felt tears stream down my face as I threw up, I had never thrown up this bad before.

"Nova are you okay sweetie?"

I quickly flushed the toilet so she wouldn't see the blood. I wiped away my tears and looked up at her.

"Oh honey." She whispered, kneeling down next to me and cupping my face with her hands.

"I don't know what's wrong," I managed to stutter, wiping my mouth.

She stroked the back of my head with her hand, "why don't you stay home from school today." She suggested, helping me to my feet.

I nodded.

"Come on, brush your teeth and let's get you into bed."

I reached for my toothbrush, but once again the nausea came back and ended up throwing up in the sink. Luckily this time it didn't last as long and any trace of blood was gone.

Mom held back my hair as I puked. I had never felt so horrible before, the feeling in my stomach was painful and the taste in my mouth revolting.

The tears once again made their way down my face as I fell to the bathroom floor, trying to control my breathing.

"It's okay sweetie," I heard mom whisper in my ear.

She pulled me into a hug.

I lay in bed, clutching my stomach, hoping the feeling wouldn't come back.

I couldn't think of anything that it could be, other than food poisoning. But mom had made her usual lasagna last night, and it's never gotten me sick before. Or maybe I just had the flu, or it was some weird vampire thing.

Mom came into my room, holding two cups.

She handed one to me, I realized it was tea, I took a sip.

"Nova."

"Yeah?"

I looked up at her, the look on her face said she was about to say something serious.
