Chapter 12: First date

Recap:

Caleb was leaning in closer and then all of the sudden, his lips crashed down onto mine, leaving me shocked. For a moment I didn't know what to do, but then something switched, I started kissing back. It felt like fireworks were going off and my body was in heat. I felt shivers down my spine and it felt amazing.

         I pulled away from Caleb to catch my breath. Oh my.. I don't know what I'm doing. Yeah, I already kissed a boy but that doesn't mean I kissed a lot of boys! To be honest, I've only kissed Jacob. He was my first kiss and my basically my first everything. But why did Caleb kiss me and why did I kiss back!?

   "Well... that happened..." I said not meeting Caleb's eyes because if I did, then I'd probably want to kiss him again. "Yup. I don't regret it one bit." He said grinning ear to ear, this is his real smile. It's genuine and that smile can cause a heart attack. Before I knew what was happening, Caleb kissed me again and of course I kissed back. I can get use to this.. but wait... where do we stand now?

Quickly I pull apart from Caleb. "Wait, wait, wait. Before any of this progresses, where do we stand now? Am I still your tutor, are we acquaintances, friends....?" I whisper shyly.

"Nova, I know we barley know each other but I wanna take sometime to know get to know you, so Nova, will you do me the pleasure and go on a date with me..?"

   Oh my gosh. Did he just asked me on a date!? AHHHHH!!! Stay calm Nova, stay calm. "Of course I will." I said calmly but in the inside I was freaking out and screaming.

  "Okay how about Wednesday at 6? Dress causal." He said. "Okay but what are we going to do!?" I chirped.

"Well Nova, that's a surprise." He said smirking at me. Damn you Caleb and damn your little smirk!!

    It's currently 5:15 on Wednesday and I have absolutely no clue what to wear. He said dress casual but how casual? Should I wear a casual dress or jeans?! Ahh I'm over thinking it. I really need to stop that.

   So I decided to go with high waisted shorts with a black crop top. To go along with that I just threw a red flannel over it if it go a bit cold and then to top it off I just put on a pair of black vans. For my hair I just put it up in a messy bun and I'm done. I'm actually a bit excited for this date.

   When I check the time it was 5:55, crap he's about to be here!! I heard a knock on the door so I rushed to get it but of course, Alex beat me to it.

   "Caleb, what a wonderful surprise." Alex said. "Oh hey Alex, I'm just here to pick up Nova." Caleb said so casually.

   I made my way over to them, interrupting their conversation. "Hey Caleb!" I said.

"Hey Nova, ready to go?" He asked. With a nod, we made our way out to his motorcycle and waving goodbye to Alex.

"So where are we going on this date?" I asked since he wouldn't tell me in Monday. "Like I said Nova, it's a surprise. You'll just have to wait." After he said that I threw a little hissy fit but he still didn't tell me so I just gave up. We hopped onto his motorcycle and we were off.

As we pulled up to the big building with neon signs I already know where we're at. Bowling. Great. "We're going bowling!!" I sang happily to Caleb.

"Yup." He said popping the 'p' with a smile that could make all the girls in our school melt. Wait, what am I saying? I could make me melt but am I going to say that out loud? Uhm no!!

We made our way inside and we got our lane and our bowling shoes, and of course Caleb trying to be a gentlemen, he went and got my bowling ball. He came back with a 16 pounder for him and a 6 pounder for me. "Really Caleb, you think I'm that weak." I huffed.

"Well, what can I say? You're a girl?" He smirked. Wow. "It's more like you get the 6 pounder and I get the 16." I said. I wouldn't of said that if I knew I couldn't do it. And oh, I could. I've done it before with Alex.

"Oh is that a bet I hear Smith?"

   "Why yes it is Rydner." I said trying to sound intimidating. "If I can beat your score with the 16 ponder, you have to... let me meet all of your friends and let me follow you around all day. I want get to really know you." I said, satisfied.

   "Oh and if I win you have to..... kiss me and go in another date with me!" He said smirking. "You've got yourself a bet Rydner." I said and oh boy! I HAVE to win this bet!

   It's the last round. Caleb and I are tied with 120-120. It's my turn to go up.... It's make or break time. I walk up and grab my ball. I stand back preparing myself and then I run down lane and roll my ball trying to aim for the perfect shot.

  My ball is rolling.. and rolling... and oh my gosh..... It made it into the freaking gutter!!!! The freaking gutter I say!!!!!! I turn around and I was faced with Caleb on the floor basically crying so hard from laughter. "It's not funny!" I shouted at him. "I still have a second shot to redeem myself, you better watch out Caleb because do could get a strike or spare!"

   I turn back around and do the same process but instead of making it into the gutter..... I only knocked down ONE pin. "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!" I shouted. I'm so going to lose this bet!! Caleb walks up behind me an grads my waist. He brings his mouth down to my ear and whispers, "You better be prepared for a kiss. Better luck next time sweet cheeks." He said and after, he kisses me ear. HE FREAKING KISSES MY EAR!!

  I went to sit down and k watched Caleb's every move. He went to pick up the ball and a vein popped out of his arm and his back was tense. He made a long stride and rolled the ball. His back was toned and he had the perfect pose. As he let go of the ball and rolled it, I already knew I lost. As the bowling ball strikes the middle of the pins, all of the pins fell at once like a dominos effect.

   As my face was paying because I knew was about to happen.. the kiss. Caleb was doing his 'victory' dance. It was a mix of twerking, whipping and nae-naeing. I wanted to laugh but at the same time I was frozen. I stood up and Caleb walked over to me. He placed a hand of my cheek caressing it and the other wrapped around my waist. He stood there like this for about a minute before he placed his very plumped lips on my lips. It ignited heat all down my back and all over my body.  And at this moment, I didn't want this feeling to stop. Whenever I kiss Caleb. It feels like home, like I'm safe.
