After Holly came to an end to the stories of  of their numerous adventures, Artemis immediately passed out.

'What happened?' cried Holly, worriedly touching his arm. Unbeknownst to her, a magic spark went from her arm to his forehead, and exactly to the spot where elfin warlocks thought magic existed.

'Information overload,' explained Foaly, 'His memory was slowly coming back, and your story caused it to accelerate and he passed out. Though if you didn't tell him, it would have been weeks or possibly months till he got his memory back-'

'What's his age?' interrupted Butler, as the meaning became clear.

'Seventeen,' said Foaly, looking miffed that his lecture was interrupted.' But I don't know what the big deal is, seeing that he's going to be the same for ten thousand years-'

'Ten Thousand?' interrupted Butler again, this time in shock.

Holly groaned. 'Foaly,' she said, glaring at him so viciously that he took a step back, which nearly made the sleeping Artemis tumble out of his back.

It did not help matters.

She punched him. Hard.  'We weren't supposed to just blurt it out, remember?'

'OK, okay,' he neighed, wincing,' Arty boy has fairy powers due to the fact that Opal's chrysalis was supposed to make a fairy clone and Opal always makes the best things for herself, even if its just for a clone. So his magic levels are far more stronger than the average elf. That, in consequence, makes his lifespan far more longer than an elf's,' he paused for effect, and then said, 'It seems that the fairy magic has made the human magic spark into existence, and that in fact, makes him immortal. The curious thing is, the human and fairy magic are both living in harmony-'

Foaly was interrupted. Again. He nearly groaned in misery. Nearly. That was a voice he hadn't heard in six months and someone- though he would never admit it to anyone- had missed dearly.

'So, consequently, that makes me the first ever human-elf Hybrid in history,' came the voice of Artemis, a self-satisfied smirk covering his features. His eyes had resumed its blue and hazel color, his fingers in the left hand had switched, and the eleventh toe had mysteriously disappeared.

Holly was the first to react. 'Oh, Arty, I've missed you so much,' and promptly kissed him.

There first kiss in this timeline, and the most romantic spot in the Fowl Manor. Surrounded by Fairy Roses, the morning dew falling on their hair, it truly was a magical sight. (Pardon the pun)

They were interrupted by a cough from Butler, and they broke apart, blushing. 'Well it's about time,' he said, hugging him. Artemis hugged him back, realizing, for the first time, how much he had missed his friends. Foaly also hugged him, and said in a voice no one else could hear, 'I missed you Artemis.'

Then: 'I didn't have an intellectual equal to talk to.'

'Pleasure to be of service, Foaly,' he replied, smirking. Then an unexpected thought came to his head, The twelve year old boy who kidnapped Holly Short would never have thought of joking with his friends he thought, Though I did not have any friends at that time.

The memories of his twelve year old self brought up a pang of remorse. But he promptly squashed the feeling aside. He was Artemis Fowl the second and he had a plan to execute. He was certain that he was not the only with magic. They called themselves Wizards and Witches and they were about to get Artemis Fowl in Hogwarts, and Tom Riddle will be Nothing compared to what the Wizarding World was going to get now. He resolved. And he thought, I might just have fun trying to get the two worlds together.

A bizarre afterthought, Did I just say fun?
