---A/N this is the longest chapter I've written, to beg forgiveness for not updating soon. i hope it's good, this is a bit weird, but remember that i'm writing about Artemis from other people's point of views, and that was really hard.---

Hogwarts, 9.00 a.m

'Yes?' Artemis snapped into the phone.

"Artemis!' It was Holly, and he could tell that she was worried. 'Thank the gods; come here with reinforcements immediately.'

He didn't realize that he had walked away from the group. Still he kept on walking, letting his feet do the walking for him. Now he understood why most people relieved their anxieties by pacing. 'Why?' he asked. 'Is Haven attacked?' It was the most logical reason, after all.

'Obviously,' she snapped. 'A lot of fairies are rallying against us; the others are wizards. But they don't look as if they are in control of their minds though; they look half dead.'

'Inferi.' Artemis breathed. And then he looked around his surroundings for the first time. He was right in front of the Headmaster's office. Typical. This was exactly where he had wanted to go.

He heard Holly's breathing, sharp and quiet and sounding a little panicked. 'Artemis, I've got to go.' And the line went dead.

Hogsmeade, 9.02 a.m

'And why,' began Severus Snape, as soon as Artemis had escorted him out to Hogmeade, with Albus Dumbledore. 'Do we need to go to Hogsmeade? I hope the sweets will be a repellent for fairies and other mythological creatures?'

'We needed reinforcements,' said Artemis calmly. 'Which I have right here. If I'm not mistaken, they have to be here right-

He looked up and saw several figures approaching him. Severus made a strangled noise. 'You invited the Malfoys? And how on earth do you the Greengrasses?'

Artemis smiled his vampire smile, which made everyone in the near vicinity shiver. When the people came near, he summoned his phoenix and teleported them to Foaly's office in Haven without further ado.

'You could have given us some warning, you know!' yelled Draco, who had landed stumbling in a very un-pureblooded way. He also looked as if he was going to throw up. Most of them looked like that except for Artemis, Severus and Albus.

'As much I hate to agree with Draco, I must say that he is right,' Celia agreed.

'If I did say what I was going to do,' Artemis gave a superior smirk. 'Would you have agreed to go?' Without waiting for a response, he said to Severus, 'and to answer your questions, the Fowl family had many contacts, you can say, that sometimes consists of wizards and muggles alike.'

'And to those who don't know, I think introductions are in order. Butler, Juliet Butler, Daphne, Astoria and Mr. and Mrs. Greengrass, Celia Black, Draco, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, Sirius Black ,severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore, respectfully.'

Artemis was walking as he said it, heading straight for the carnage. 'Expect a lot of Inferi, and do not bother to even to look at anyone until I tell you. Understand?'

They all understood. It was plain and clear, after all, and not at all like Artemis. Sirius frowned at his back, trying to understand what had happened to his, to all intents and purposes, nephew.

He's worried. He realized with a start. Not just for himself, but the whole city of Haven as a general. What had happened to make him act like that?

Artemis had been vaguely cryptic during the Order Meeting, annoying the hell out of everyone; not telling anyone about how he had come to the order at all, a mere boy of seventeen, they seem to think. Oh if only you knew him. Nothing is as simple as that, I'm afraid. Artemis had only told himself and a few others of the species, namely, the people that were right here, with the exception of his parents, who were at home, not knowing that their son might die today. Not once but twice.

He was roused out of his reverie when Celia shouted, 'Sirius, duck!' he avoided the laser just in time, which hit the nearest Inferi, who began to collapse, than regained itself.

'Everyone, fight as best as you can and try not to die,' called Celia, and immediately disappeared, along with the others, all of them going in different directions.

That was when all hell- excuse me but its true- broke lose.

Haven, Artemis's POV

Artemis was worried. He knew it was irrational, that everyone should die someday, that he had died himself, spending some painful months in limbo. He knew all of this.

But that didn't stop him from worrying for his friends. He was worried about everyone he had chosen to accompany to Haven, though he knew that they could take care of themselves. He sighed while battling through Inferi, having a bizarre thought that he would never have done this when he was twelve years ago. Those days he had been ruthless -he still was- but he could never have fought like he did now, or have worried about his friends when he was in a battle. He would have worried about himself, first and foremost. Well, he did a still worry about himself more than any normal person would, which was besides the point.

He saw the laser beam shoot towards him, and before he could avoid it, it sped towards him and made a deep gash in his leg. It appeared that his healing power wasn't working. This was Opal's work, he was certain.

Artemis wondered if he was dying. Again. His mouth quirked into a sardonic smile, he had escaped death for the umpteenth time and everyone knew that it was impossible to escape death that many times. Still, he wished that he could have another chance.

Then he remembered who he was. He was Artemis Fowl the second. He never gave up, especially on life and death situations, where people relied on him most. And, in a less sentimental manner, he wanted to live, which really had been his first reason to live, which had kept him anchored to the Fowl Manor near the Berserker Gate.

His leg was hurting. He had never experienced that much of pain before, but Artemis figured that there was a first time for everything. He sighed. There was only one thing he could to do to stop it, and he didn't plan on dying anytime soon, now that he thought about it. And what he was planning to do was nearly impossible, but bringing impossible to higher levels was his specialty.

He concentrated. Magic pure and in its wildest form, appeared on his body, making him glow, quite literally. The magic acted on its instincts, lashing out at anyone who had any ill intent towards Artemis, and making nearly half people in Haven fall unconscious. Artemis's wounds had been healed by now, but he felt the aching tiredness spreading up to him, black spots appearing in his eyes. He resisted the impulse, going to search for his friends instead.

Luckily for him, they were all near, standing in a tight circle, looking around the unconscious bodies as if they couldn't believe what they saw. Holly noticed him first.

'Artemis!' she ran up to him and promptly threw her arms around him, kissing him. Sirius gave a wolf whistle, but Artemis was beyond caring. Holly was the one who finally pulled away.

'What is the meaning of this?' asked Celia, ever the one to the point, although she looked a little amused. 'I mean, they attacked Haven first, but they should have attacked the wizards first, since they can fight better and give them a better challenge, and we have more people...' then: 'oh'

'Indeed,' agreed Artemis. 'Opal and Voldemort wanted to show that they were powerful and had more ranks than us, who weren't even expecting a war at this point, since they have lived in peace for so long.' There was a dramatic pause.

'This means war.'

Then he fell dramatically unconscious, -as Holly later told every friend of hers- Butler's quick reflexes the only thing that stopped him from hitting the road.
