What have I done? I should have let the lion have her. That would have solved all of our problems. No temptation and Lextor could have the celebration he deserves.

Instead, I rushed forth and saved her, exposing myself and risking even more than before. She will look for me and when she finds me, she will want an explanation. After she informs her family and they inform the world, they too will want answers.

Margas seems to be handling himself well enough. I will desist from watching the girl and give him the task. Surely, he will take it after I explain what happened.

After I sent the lion running, I followed alongside her. I had taken the place of the lion stalking her, as if I were on the hunt. This exhilarated me. She fled to the safety of her home but instead of going inside, she sat on the steps.

I doubted very much she would venture pass those steps and felt confident that she was safe, at least for the remainder of this day. I had to find Margas. I looked back at her and saw the way she stared at her hands in front of her. They trembled uncontrollably. She balled them into fists, one fist she wrapped around her body the other she brought to her mouth, unfolded it and lightly touched her trembling lips with the back of her hand.

I could not look away, just yet, as I observed the expressions on her face. She was scared and shocked but not as much as she should be. Her hair, the color of dark auburn, came undone while she ran through the forest and now hung down her back. Its sweet fragrant lingered in the air near me where she passed just moments ago.

She took her hand from her mouth and pushed her errant hair back over her shoulder. Her honey colored eyes stared widely at a spot near her feet on the gravel ground. She was reliving her experience. Something in my head reminded me that I needed to find Margas still I did not leave. She took a deep breath, composed herself, and then went into the house. Then I left to find Margas.

I found him and Gilliana sitting in the living room.

“Rogue,” Gilly said, inviting me to sit with them. “We have news. Anya, Stella and Daxton will be here by tomorrow night.”

     “Are they well informed?”

“Yes, I told all.” Gilly said, understanding fully what I meant. “They were already on their way to help with the celebration. Even though it’s cancelled they decided to come anyway.”

“I look forward to seeing them.”

“We all do.” Margas said a big smile on his face. Gilly growled at him.

     “What?” He feigned innocence.

Stella and Margas were lovers before he and Gilliana found each other. After he broke it off with Stella, she still offered herself to him caring not that he found his life partner in Gilliana. The girls fought regularly.

Daxton took Stella and Anya away, to save Margas and Giliana’s relationship. Stella is now Dax’s his second lover. Anya does not care; she is only passing time with him until she finds her life partner.

It has only been six years since last, I saw them but I miss not having all my family together. Then, I remembered the girl. I sat on the sofa and held my head.

“Rogue, what’s wrong?” Gilliana asked, immediately tuning into me.

“I have compromised myself.” I said distressed.

“What happened?” There was tension in Margas’s voice. He was expecting the worst.

I told it as it happened. After I left Norah, I found the girl in the forest, lost. Her medicinal scent sharpened my curiosity. She was following one path when she spotted another and decided to venture down. It led her on to our land and to a dead end. She stopped and stared at all the bramble and bushes blocking her path and then she looked suspiciously around her.
