Fifteen minutes passed before Angie came back into the room. I finished my dessert while I waited. She resumed her place in the seat beside me.
“I’m sorry about all that.”
“Don’t apologize to me, you did nothing wrong.” I held her eyes for a moment before she looked away, picked up her dessertspoon, and swirled it into the whipped topping. “Who knew Vegan food could taste so good.”
“Really, it wasn’t disgusting to you.”
“Not at all, I taste what you taste; if I choose too I can taste more, every complicated flavor. I enjoyed everything.”
“Thanks, for doing this.”
I took the spoon from her hand and dipped it into the Chocolate Mousse to feed her. She lifted her eyes from the spoon near her lips to my eyes before opening her mouth.
I had the urge to taste the dessert from her mouth and that is exactly what I did. It tasted one hundred times better.
“I’ll put this in the kitchen and meet you out back.” I told her as she ate the last of the mousse. There were things I needed to tell her. Time was running out.
She waited for me on the wicker sofa. “I want you to meet the rest of my family tomorrow night. They are anxious to meet you.
Many emotions flitted across her face. Fear and excitement were the main two.
“And, Stella?”
I held her hand and gently squeezed it. “Stella has expressed her remorse about what happened. I have agreed to let it be for now. Young Vampires are aggressive and erratic. Will you come?”
“Yes. Let’s go up to my room.” She stood up and tried to pull me up with her. “What are you made off? It’s like trying to pull a boulder.” She wondered aloud.
The corners of my mouth went up. “What do you think I’m made off?”
“Hmm…” Her warm hands explored my chest. “I have no idea.” She finally said giving up and gaining a smile from me. “You look like a God.” She sauntered to the back door. “I’ll race you.” She said and took off running.
What a cheat, I thought with a smile. She was running as fast as her perfect legs could carry her when I breezed past her on the steps.
She opened her bedroom and her jaws dropped. I was sitting on the edge of her bed. “H-how did you get here? I d-didn’t see you.”
“Are you sure because I passed right by you on the steps.” I kept a straight face.
“I can’t believe you got here so fast.”
“Neither can I, you had a head start.”
Her guilty showed.
“I’ll be right back.”
I stood looking out her window, waiting and listening as she brushed her teeth and changed out of her dress. The bathroom door opened and I turned around.
Everything in me stilled. She walked over to her bed in only a white bra and panty and slid under the covers, making room for me.
“We could watch a movie.” She quickly suggested when I didn’t move. “In there” She pointed to the armoiren in the corner of her room.
“Or we could just talk.” I suggested moving to the bed to lay in it. Her heightened hormones were like physical energy between us. I needed to restrain her and then myself. Just like before she snuggled closer. At least my shirt was on.
